<strong>Wolds</strong> <strong>View</strong> <strong>Surgery</strong> <strong>officially</strong> <strong>opens</strong> <strong>at</strong> <strong>Bridlington</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong><br />

Where: <strong>Wolds</strong> <strong>View</strong> <strong>Surgery</strong>, Entrance A, <strong>Bridlington</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong>,<br />

Bessingby Road, <strong>Bridlington</strong>, YO16 4QP<br />

The GP Access Centre (<strong>Wolds</strong> <strong>View</strong> <strong>Surgery</strong>) on the <strong>Bridlington</strong> <strong>Hospital</strong> site<br />

will be <strong>officially</strong> opened on Tuesday 9 March <strong>at</strong> 1.30pm by Mayor of<br />

<strong>Bridlington</strong>, Cyril Marsburg, accompanied by NHS East Riding of Yorkshire<br />

Community Services Committee Chairman, Robin Morley.<br />

The centre, which opened its doors on Monday 15 June 2009, is oper<strong>at</strong>ed by<br />

the <strong>Bridlington</strong> Healthcare NHS Collabor<strong>at</strong>ive (a joint arrangement between<br />

NHS East Riding of Yorkshire Community Services and four of <strong>Bridlington</strong>’s<br />

GP practices - Practice 1, Practice2, Practice 3 and Manor House <strong>Surgery</strong>)<br />

and offers a range of GP and other health care services 8am-8pm, 7 days a<br />

week.<br />

<strong>Wolds</strong> <strong>View</strong> <strong>Surgery</strong> offers p<strong>at</strong>ients improved and more convenient access to<br />

GPs and other healthcare professionals and the extended opening hours<br />

provide a gre<strong>at</strong>er choice of appointment times in the evening and over the<br />

weekend. High quality services are on offer to anyone who wishes to <strong>at</strong>tend<br />

the practice, including people who are registered with another practice or not<br />

registered with a GP practice <strong>at</strong> all.<br />

Registered and unregistered p<strong>at</strong>ients can book an appointment for health<br />

advice and tre<strong>at</strong>ment from GPs and skilled health professionals.

<strong>Wolds</strong> <strong>View</strong> <strong>Surgery</strong>. The clinical rooms and waiting area are a fine example<br />

of a modern healthcare facility providing, high quality care to residents of<br />

<strong>Bridlington</strong> and surrounding areas, as well as <strong>Bridlington</strong>’s holiday season<br />

visitors.”<br />

<strong>Wolds</strong> view <strong>Surgery</strong> currently offers the following services for non-registered p<strong>at</strong>ients:<br />

• Tre<strong>at</strong>ing minor illnesses including:<br />

• High temper<strong>at</strong>ure<br />

• Headaches & dizziness<br />

• Coughs, colds, “flu-like” symptoms and hay-fever;<br />

• Ear, nose and thro<strong>at</strong> infections (e.g., minor infections such as sore thro<strong>at</strong>s and<br />

ear aches);<br />

• Eye care, e.g., conjunctivitus, styes, removal of superficial foreign bodies;<br />

• Stomach ache. Indigestion, constip<strong>at</strong>ion, vomiting and diarrhoea;<br />

• Derm<strong>at</strong>ology and skin complaints, e.g., rashes, minor allergic reactions, scabies,<br />

head lice, sunburn and<br />

• Genito-urinary problems; e.g., urinary infections, thrush and menstrual problems<br />

• Emergency contraception<br />

• Pregnancy testing and advice<br />

• Sexual health/lifestyle advice


• Smoking cess<strong>at</strong>ion<br />

• Weight management<br />

Make an appointment with your local GP when you have an illness or injury th<strong>at</strong> will<br />

not go away. Out-of-hours medical assessment is also available. Choosing well<br />

ensures you receive the best possible tre<strong>at</strong>ment, leaving emergency services to<br />

those who need them most.<br />

<strong>Wolds</strong> <strong>View</strong> <strong>Surgery</strong> able to offer same day appointments, which are also bookable<br />

by phone. The <strong>Surgery</strong> does not provide Urgent or Emergency Care.<br />
