Job Description<br />
11. Collect and share information on future opportunities in education or<br />
vocational opportunities with students and parents, e.g.,universities, technical<br />
schools, apprentice programs. This includes all requirements <strong>of</strong> admission<br />
for these programs and arranging for any on or <strong>of</strong>f site visits by these<br />
colleges and trade schools.<br />
12. Assist the administrative and teaching staffs in the area <strong>of</strong> guidance by<br />
sharing appropriate information and assisting in the development <strong>of</strong> the<br />
curriculum as needed.<br />
13. Provide follow up and research services requested by the nonpublic principal<br />
and share these findings with the nonpublic principal and staff so that they<br />
are better able to serve the school and community.<br />
14. Seek opportunities to improve skills and grow pr<strong>of</strong>essionally; attend all required<br />
meetings and in-services<br />
SKILLS, ABILITIES AND KNOWLEDGE:<br />
• Knowledge <strong>of</strong> the Operating Standards for Ohio’s Schools Serving Children<br />
with Disabilities<br />
• Knowledge <strong>of</strong> FERPA and HIPPA<br />
• Knowledge <strong>of</strong> nonpublic school policies and procedures<br />
• Knowledge <strong>of</strong> Ohio laws and regulations governing the Auxiliary <strong>Service</strong>s<br />
Program<br />
• Knowledge <strong>of</strong> current testing programs<br />
• Knowledge <strong>of</strong> current educational issues and best practices<br />
• Ability to use technology as both a productivity tool and as a method <strong>of</strong><br />
communication; pr<strong>of</strong>icient in computer applications including Micros<strong>of</strong>t Office<br />
• Ability to maintain student records<br />
• Ability to analyze and interpret testing data<br />
• Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing<br />
• Ability to maintain confidentiality<br />
• Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers,<br />
administrators, and public<br />
• Skill in effective group and individual counseling<br />
