9. <strong>Assessment</strong>s & Evaluations – can be used when per<strong>for</strong>mance in<strong>for</strong>mation indicates<br />

an unexpected result (positive or negative) that should be explained (e.g., gender<br />

differential results). [Note also that assessments and evaluations, like any procurements,<br />

should integrate gender considerations, i.e., composition of the assessment team,<br />

ensuring that gender issues are identified and included in the scope of work, and<br />

collecting disaggregated data.]<br />

RFA Language (general integration of gender)<br />

<strong>Gender</strong> Overall: Likelihood to reach and benefit a diverse group of beneficiaries,<br />

including both female and male young people [entrepreneurs, etc.] from both minority<br />

and majority ethnic groups.<br />

Contract/Grant Language<br />

<strong>Gender</strong> integration is an important part of this project, focusing on the participation of<br />

and benefits to each gender. To the greatest extent possible, the Contractor/Recipient<br />

shall seek to include both men and women in all aspects of this program including<br />

participation and leadership in meetings, associations, working groups, training and<br />

counseling activities, exchanges, and delegations.* The Recipient shall collect, analyze<br />

and submit to <strong>USAID</strong> sex-disaggregated data and propose actions that will address any<br />

identified gender-related issues.<br />

* Note: the activities listed should be modified to reflect the project that is being<br />

implemented.<br />
