Today’s distribution grids are at the brink of a substantial transformation:
as the electricity mix becomes greener, networks will have to adapt to
become more resilient to variable output from renewables – and to new
loads like electric cars. Smarter infrastructure, and smarter management
of that infrastructure by distribution companies, can help Europe
decarbonise while paving the way for new services for customers.
