Activity Report 2012 - Eurelectric

Reducing the power sector’s carbon footprint is one of our major goals:
by 2050 we aim to produce carbon-neutral electricity across Europe. As
part of the EU’s Emissions Trading System, our sector is already paying
for the Co 2 it emits. Moreover, we are continuously working to minimise
our impact on the environment: by reducing emissions other than Co 2 ,
by using water and energy more efficiently – and by encouraging our
customers to do the same. It’s all part of one overall objective:
making our sector more sustainable.
