Panasonic's V-real collection of leading-edge imaging 

technologies has evolved into the V-real II and 

V-real Pro II systems. These new technologies combine 

expertise gained in developing the high-definition 

cameras used to broadcast the Olympics Games with 

advanced authoring technologies developed at the 

Panasonic Hollywood Laboratory (PHL).

VIERA V-real II/V-real Pro II Processor 

The V-real II/V-real Pro II processor enhances the 

basic quality of images reproduced from input video

With its 1920 x 1080 resolution, VIERA's full-HD panel displays 

beautiful images without needing to perform pixel conversion for 

the 1080p video signals processed by the video circuitry. You can

It was previously considered difficult to attain stable electrical

Intelligent Scene Controller 

This system adjusts the backlight brightness and contrast according 

to the scene. In dark scenes, the backlight intensity is reduced to as 

little as 1/7 the level of our previous model (LX30) to reproduce

the VIERA Remote Control 

An HDMI cable carries not only digital video and audio signals, but 

control signals too. That means you can use your VIERA remote 

control to operate a DVD recorder, BD player, HD video camera and 

other equipment connected to your VIERA TV. For example, use your 

VIERA remote to control a recording operation with your DVD 

recorder or to start and stop playback of scenes from a video 

camera. With VIERA, extra ease and convenience are part of the 

entertainment package. 

* The TH-65PX/PV600 and LM70 series support conventional HDAVI Control. 

• VIERA Link is a new name for the function that was previously called HDAVI Control. VIERA Link uses control signals from HDMI

What's SDHC? 

SDHC is a new standard for memory cards with a 

storage capacity of 2 GB or more. The standard was 

established in 2006 by the SD Association. The SDHC card offers 

up to 4-GB storage capacity, exceeding the current SD Memory 

Card's capacity limit of 2 GB, while remaining about the same 

size as a postage stamp. 

WHAT’S AVCHD? 

AVCHD is a standard developed jointly 

by Sony and Panasonic for HD digital video cameras. 

Using highly efficient codec technologies, it records 1080i 

high-definition signals onto media such as 8-cm DVD discs and 

SD/SDHC Memory Cards. AVCHD allows an HD video camera to 

make long-time recordings of high-density video information 

onto a DVD disc or SD/SDHC Memory Card. 

PC Input 

VIERA is equipped with a PC input terminal. Connect a PC that is also 

connected to the Internet, and you can surf or view content you've downloaded 

on VIERA's big, beautiful screen. 

For business users, the PC input lets you take advantage of VIERA's big 

screen and exceptional viewing quality in presentations and training 

programmes.

on the environment when recycling or disposing of them in the future.

With a plasma display panel, power consumption varies with the brightness of the displayed 

image. VIERA incorporates circuitry designed to use electrical power efficiently, according to 

the scene. This helps minimize power consumption and reduce your electric bills. Panasonic's 

care for the environment extends to manufacturing as well. For example, VIERA circuit boards 

are made using lead-free solder. 

Long-Life Design - 60,000 Hours of Viewing Fun

Ecological Plant Facilities 

New Amagasaki Plant Opens as World Demand Continues to Climb 

Panasonic's new Amagasaki Plant began operation on September 16, 2005, giving the 

company a new base for manufacturing plasma display panels. The new plant boasts the 

world's largest PDP production capacity and is slated to produce more than five million 

PDPs in 2006. The Amagasaki Plant is a key part of Panasonic's response to the 

fast-growing worldwide demand for thin, large-screen PDP units. 

External Walls with Photocatalytic Coating 

The external walls of the factory 

building are covered with a special 

photocatalytic coating. This coating 

also reduces harmful nitrogen oxides 

(NOx). The NOx-reducing effects of 

the coating on the factory building is 

said to equal the effect achieved by 

about 1,800 poplar trees. 

Hybrid Power Generation 

The outdoor lights on the factory grounds are 

powered by a Kaze Kamome (Wind Seagull)
