Mr Seeuws is a career diplomat who, prior to his new position as Ambassador, served as an Advisor to the Permanent Representation of Belgium in charge of relations with the European Parliament, and Attaché to the Belgian Embassy in Washington D.C. conducting work on economic and investment-related issues, and a spokesperson for the Department of Foreign Affairs in Belgium. Pierre Pribetich joins the European Parliament Mr Pierre Pribetich, was appointed member of the European Parliament, joining the Socialist Group. He was previously Deputy mayor of Dijon, Vice-Chairman of Di- jon Urban Area Community Council, and Chairman of SEMAAD (Mixed Investment Company for Town Planning in the Dijon Urban Area). He was also a Member of the Socialist Party‘s National Council from 2005 to 2007 and the Socialist Party‘s national delegate for Housing, during the same period. In addition, from 1994 to 2007, Mr Pribetich was a lecturer at the University of Bourgogne.. Tomaszewska appointed to European Parliament Mrs Tomaszewska entered the European Parliament on 30 August 2007, and is a member of the Union for Europe of the Nations Group. A member of Solidarity from 1980, she later became a member of the Council in the department of Social Policy under the government of Lech Wałesa. From 1998-2002 she was the Chairman of the Advisory Committee for the Supervisory Board on Pension Funds, and since 2002 she has been a member of the Insurance Council, and a member of the Advisory Council on the use of Public Funds for the Disabled (until 2004). She is the vice-Chairman of the society of UNFE Market Capital and member of the Board for the Polish Union of Catholic Women. Figueiredo elected President of AECM José Fernando Figueiredo has been elected President of the European Mutual Guarantee Association (AECM) at the end of June 2007. Previous to this appointment, Mr Figueiredo served as the Executive President of Norgarante-MGS and Lisgarante-MGS, and as CEO of SPGM, the ‘holding’ of the Portuguese Mutual Guarantee Scheme for SME. He was also a member of the Strategic Committee of Change Partners and of the Independent Agrocapital SCR. Mr Figueiredo’s background also includes membership of the Executive Network of REGAR, the Latin-American Credit Guarantees. Marcel Daniëls new Vice-President at Teva Europe Marcel Daniëls has just joined Teva Europe as Vice-President Government Relations, reporting to the organisation’s President and CEO, Gerard van Odijk. Mr Daniëls has 25 years of experience in senior corporate affairs and government relations positions for major companies such as Raychem (now Tyco), Exxon Chemical International, Alcan Aluminum and recently Merck Sharp & Dohme. Mr Daniëls will be setting up Teva’s EU representation office in Brussels and will be coordinating Teva’s European government relations activities.

Start: 10/09/2007 Sebastian Gerlach joins Microsoft Brussels office Sebastian Gerlach joined the Microsoft Brussels Legal and Corporate Affairs Office on July 1st, 2007. Mr Gerlach will be running institutional relations in Brussels, with a particular focus on managing the relationship with the European Parliament. He previously worked with Kreab, a Brussels-based Public Affairs and Communications Consultancy. Over the last few years he has advised various international companies among other things on EU company law and corporate governance policy, financial services, competition and environmental issues. Ciminera joins Blueprint Partners Blueprint Partners has expanded its senior team with the appointment of Carla Cimin- era, who will head up the ICT Division from October 2007. She was previously Director of the European Internet Foundation for six years where she coordinated and ran a network of Members of the European Parliament and industry representatives. Her experience also includes working at the EU Commission, Ambrosetti, the European Savings Bank Group, Goldman Sachs, The Economist/European Voice, Singapore Airlines, the Italian Foreign Affairs Minister, Valentino, and Armani. Edouard Toulouse joins ECOS Edouard Toulouse has joined ECOS, the European Environmental Citizens‘ Organisa- tion for Standardisation. Mr Toulouse will facilitate the practical implementation of EU energy efficiency policies via standardisation and coordination of initiatives sup- ported by European green NGOs with the Directive on the eco-design of energy using products. Prior to assuming this position at ECOS, Mr Toulouse worked in several French associations as Energy and Climate Change Officer. He is a trained engineer who graduated from Ecole Centrale Paris with a Masters degree in environmental management from Ecole des Mines de Paris. Andrée Jallon joins Athenora Consulting The EU affairs consultancy firm Athenora Consulting has further expanded its advisory team by recruiting Andrée Jallon as Senior Advisor. André Jallon worked as Renault‘s head of office in Brussels, as a civil servant in the French Ministry, and as a national expert in DG Competition. She will most notably advise Athenora‘s clients on competition cases. Simona Urbaityte joins CEEP The general secretariat of the European Centre of Enterprises with Public Participation has appointed Simona Urbaityte as their new Policy Officer. Her activity fields will mainly cover energy, the internal market and Services of General Interest. She gained a Bachelors and Masters of law in Mykolas Romeris University, Lithuania, specialising in Law and Public Administration. Before joining CEEP she worked with the DG Presidency of the European Parliament
