teacher. Soon you found out that praise raises your self-esteem, and criticism makes you
try harder to achieve your goal.
A combination of fun and work was what you could expect when you went to class.
Suddenly a hobby became much more serious, when you became aware of what you
needed to do to make a performance as truthful as possible. You became aware of your
body language. You became aware of how much you really needed to be aware. And
suddenly you realized that your thoughts, emotions and objectives needed to be your
character’s, if you wanted to bring the story alive.
The best thing about the EFC is that it gives you a chance to get as close as possible to
a real film environment. Before you get to know everyone at the EFC, you get thrown
into exercises that contain a complete crew. Directors, cameramen, PMs, sound guys
and co-actors. You discover that for each film crew you become a part of, you create a
special relationship with the people in that crew. And you will never again have the same
prejudices and thoughts that you had about a film person.
Many people want to experience a lot in their life. My advice to those people would
be to act.
