This publication shows how an
alternative management company
functions on the one hand and on
the other hand it offers the
possibility to a dozen talented
artists to profile themselves in an
original way. An extensive archive
provides a chronological overview
of all completed projects (75) and
collaborations between 2003-2013.
De happening en boekpresentatie
zal plaatsvinden tijdens het
Kunstenfestivaldesarts, in hun
festivalcentrum in de
Beursschouwburg, Brussel op 17
mei 2013.
Alain-Arias Misson
From the Cutting-Floor of the
Public Poem
Roger D'Hondt
In the mid-sixties, a young
Belgian-American
experimental/visual poet, Alain
Arias-Misson, returned to his
birthplace Brussels, which his
family had fled during World War II
for New York.
Back in Brussels the
poet initiated his well-known
"public poems", which predate the
genre performance and are all up
to today different from one another
and never repeated. For
Arias-Misson, the street is the page
upon which the poem can be
drawn.
Ce livre fait écho à l'exposition
national des arts plastiques
(France) et la Centrale for
Contemporary Art (Ville de
empruntant ce titre à la citation du
célèbre poète latin Virgile «
Heureux celui qui connaît l'origine
catalogue se font énigme et tentent
de remonter à la source de la
pensée et de l'acte créateur.
Kelly Schacht
The Backstory
Kelly Schacht & Dirk Elst
Voor de eerste maal komt de
kunstenares Kelly Schacht naar
buiten met een eigen publicatie.
Deze draagt de titel 'The
Backstory'. Het is een monografie
en tegelijk een kunstenaarsboek.
Het is net zoals de andere werken
van Schacht een werk op zich,
maar ditmaal in de vorm van een
boek dat reeds bestaand werk
gebruikt als bronmateriaal. Op deze
manier wil het boek het oeuvre van
de voorbije jaren tonen, evenals de
constructie ervan. Uiteindelijk wil
het geheel een speelruimte voor
verbeelding zijn.
