Iona Halliday (2000) has<br />

always been passionate<br />

about Athletics. Iona’s<br />

tertiary studies began<br />

with a Certificate IV in<br />

Fitness from Swinburne<br />

(TAFE), Vic<strong>to</strong>ria and<br />

in 2008 graduated<br />

from Deakin University,<br />

Melbourne, with a<br />

Bachelor of Applied<br />

Science (in Sports<br />

Coaching). In 2009 Iona<br />

gained a Post Graduate<br />

Scholarship at the<br />

Australian Institute of Sport, Canberra, ACT in the<br />

Physiology Department as a Quality Assurance<br />

Officer. She was offered a position in Oc<strong>to</strong>ber of<br />

that same year as a member of the support staff for<br />

the Australian Women’s Skele<strong>to</strong>n Team competing<br />

in the Winter Olympics. As a support staff member<br />

Iona and the team travelled overseas <strong>to</strong> compete<br />

in the World Cup series in order for the athletes <strong>to</strong><br />

qualify for the Winter Olympics in Whistler, Canada,<br />

in February, <strong>2010</strong>. For the World Cup competitions<br />

the team travelled <strong>to</strong> the USA, Whistler, Canada,<br />

Italy, Germany and Switzerland. Iona had <strong>to</strong> film,<br />

edit and digitally record performances, their splits<br />

and those of the competing nations and hand<br />

these results <strong>to</strong> the coaches as well as keeping in<br />

<strong>to</strong>uch with the AIS in Canberra. Another part of her<br />

job was <strong>to</strong> drive the team <strong>to</strong> various venues when<br />

necessary. After returning from overseas, in early<br />

<strong>2010</strong>, Iona is again enjoying working at the AIS. This<br />

time with the Australian Rowing Team, conducting<br />

their performance tests and labora<strong>to</strong>ry reports<br />

amongst many other interesting procedures. Due<br />

<strong>to</strong> the Federal Government’s new administration for<br />

elite sport, Iona is now waiting <strong>to</strong> see if her position<br />

becomes more permanent.<br />

Luke Altmann (1997) featured in the Adelaide<br />

‘Advertiser’ in August as a composer in the<br />

composers’ collective called ‘The Firm’. Since<br />

2000 he has volunteered at Radio Adelaide,<br />

presenting Continuum - Modern Classics and Ear<br />

<strong>to</strong> the Ground with fellow Adelaidean composers<br />

Grahame Dudley and David Lang. As a composer<br />

he has written regularly since 2002 for The Firm.<br />

From 2005 <strong>to</strong> 2009 he ran De la Catessen, an<br />

independent inner city venue dedicated <strong>to</strong> the<br />

performance of new and experimental music.<br />

Anne Janssen (1998, nee Cawrse), a former music<br />

teacher at <strong>Faith</strong>, has just writen a new work which<br />

is being performed by the Adelaide Symphony<br />

Orchestra in Oc<strong>to</strong>ber as part of the ASO Masters<br />

series.<br />

Natalie Williams (1994) is currently in Blooming<strong>to</strong>n,<br />

Indiana completing her PhD in Composition Studies<br />

and had one of her early works performed at the 2009<br />

Barossa Valley Vintage Festival. She is currently<br />

composing a new Baroque chamber work for its<br />

premiere performance<br />

at a Langmeil Twilight<br />

concert as part of the<br />

2011 Vintage Festival.<br />

Natalie is building an<br />

interntional reputation<br />

in both the US and<br />

Europe. We may see her<br />

at school at the end of<br />

the year <strong>to</strong> present the<br />

Jan Williams Memorial<br />

Scholarship in Music<br />

<strong>to</strong> a Senior <strong>Faith</strong> music<br />

student.<br />

Eleanor Blythman (1998) has taken a role in the<br />

current production of ‘Phan<strong>to</strong>m of the Opera’ in<br />

London. She is very happy <strong>to</strong> be making her West<br />

End debut in Phan<strong>to</strong>m and thanks her friends and<br />

family for their continued support. Eleanor trained<br />

at the Elder Conserva<strong>to</strong>rium of Music before<br />

gaining a Bachelor of<br />

Music in classical voice<br />

performance (Hons),<br />

followed by a graduate<br />

diploma in singing from the<br />

Royal <strong>College</strong> of Music,<br />

London. <strong>Faith</strong> has been<br />

proud <strong>to</strong> see Eleanor’s career progress through her<br />

talent and dedication.<br />

Melanie Radke (1999) is now a fulltime violinist in<br />

the WA Symphony Orchestra and her sister, Hayley<br />

Radke (2001), has a full time role as flautist with<br />

the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.<br />

Melissa Jaunay (2000) and Philip Jaunay (2003)<br />

are theatre technicians in Melbourne where they<br />

have been working on the show ‘Jersey Boys’.<br />

The show closed at the end of July, and Philip<br />

has now travelled <strong>to</strong> Sydney with the show for its<br />

Sydney season (12 months). Melissa will remain in<br />

Melbourne and her next show will be the season of<br />

‘Hairspray’.
