There are four main criteria in relation to the acceptability <strong>of</strong> an APEL application:<br />
1 Currency <strong>–</strong> your experiential learning must not be ‘out <strong>of</strong> date’,<br />
normally this means it must be within the last 5 years.<br />
2 Sufficiency and adequacy <strong>–</strong> the volume and level <strong>of</strong> the learning you have<br />
acquired through experience much match that for which the claim is made.<br />
3 Authenticity <strong>–</strong> there must be some corroborated evidence available to<br />
support your claim, such as work references, testimonies etc.<br />
4 Validity <strong>–</strong> the evidence you provide must match the learning outcomes for<br />
the Course <strong>of</strong> study for which you are claiming APEL.<br />
