determining the amount <strong>of</strong> such fee for any household, dogs under the age <strong>of</strong> six months shall<br />

not be counted in the number <strong>of</strong> dogs therein.<br />

Resources/ <strong>Falmouth</strong> Animal Control.<br />

AMENDMENT:<br />

MULTIPLE DOG LICENSE<br />

Any owner or keeper <strong>of</strong> between four (4) and nine (9) dogs being over the age <strong>of</strong> six (6) months,<br />

being maintained in a private residence for non-commercial purposes and all <strong>of</strong> which have<br />

been spayed or neutered, (except those animals registered with the American Kennel Club,<br />

the Canadian Kennel Club or the United Kennel Club that are being shown in breed) shall<br />

secure a multiple pet license in lieu <strong>of</strong> obtaining a commercial kennel license. Such license<br />

issuance shall be contingent upon inspection <strong>of</strong> the licensed premises by the Animal Control<br />

Officer to ensure that basic standards <strong>of</strong> cleanliness and proper care and confinement <strong>of</strong> said<br />

dogs as recommended by the Massachusetts Society for the Prevention <strong>of</strong> Cruelty to Animals<br />

are followed.<br />

The holder <strong>of</strong> a multiple pet license shall cause each dog to wear, while it is at large, a collar or<br />

harness to which shall be securely attached a tag upon which shall appear the number <strong>of</strong> such<br />

license, the year <strong>of</strong> issue and the inscription “<strong>Falmouth</strong>”. Such license shall be in a form<br />

prescribed by the <strong>Town</strong> Clerk. The <strong>Town</strong> Clerk shall not issue a multiple pet license unless the<br />

owner or keeper provides the <strong>Town</strong> Clerk with a veterinarian’s certificate verifying that each<br />

dog over the age <strong>of</strong> six months is currently vaccinated against rabies and spayed or neutered<br />

(except those animals registered with the American Kennel Club, the Canadian Kennel<br />

Club or the United Kennel Club that are being shown in breed.<br />

The license period for a multiple pet license shall be from January 1 st to December 31 st ,<br />

inclusive. The fee for each multiple pet license shall be determined by the Board <strong>of</strong> Selectmen<br />

for between four and nine dogs kept in said household; provided that, for the purpose <strong>of</strong><br />

determining the amount <strong>of</strong> such fee for any household, dogs under the age <strong>of</strong> six months shall<br />

not be counted in the number <strong>of</strong> dogs therein.<br />

VOTED: By a declared majority vote, a quorum being present on Thursday, <strong>April</strong> 5, <strong>2007</strong> the<br />

<strong>Town</strong> voted Article 49 as amended.<br />

ARTICLE 50: To see if the <strong>Town</strong> will vote to amend ch. 83 <strong>of</strong> the Code <strong>of</strong> <strong>Falmouth</strong>,<br />

animals, by adding a new section to be appropriately numbered by the <strong>Town</strong> Clerk, as follows:<br />

A) Any person owning, keeping or otherwise responsible for a companion animal or<br />

farm animal who confines that animal to his property by tethering, fencing, or other<br />

means shall provide for that animal access to adequate shelter from the elements <strong>of</strong><br />

weather such as precipitation, cold and heat and protection from entanglements or<br />
