lawyer was quoted, in
court, as saying that in
the eyes of the law his
crime carried "no more
moral culpability than if
he would have hit a
parked car"!
Are these the kind of
values that the majority
of us hold? There are
only .^0 days to appeal
this sentence. Would it be
100 much lo expect that a
thousand letters could
come out of this area to
the Attorney General of
BC saying that this is not
the kind of justice we
deserve and asking for an
appeal of this ca.se?
It takes more than
sympathy-it takes action.
1 hope there are
people who read this who
will not wait to live
through the agony of
losing someone ihey love
dearly before they act.

Wells Winter Festival

Festival happening on
January 26-28.
Some additional
events have been added
for the youngsters and
teens of the area.
I know how important
it is to make sure that the
youth are involved with
the Festival. The events
for youngsters and teens
will happen all weekend,
beginning with the Arctic
Traditional Sports at 10
a.m. on Jan. 26 at the
Rec Centre in Ouesnel.
The opening ceremonies
will take place at Alex
Fraser Park at 9:30 a.m.
Primary participants
in the Arctic Games will
be students from all area
schools.
Later on Friday night
(Jan. 26) there Ls a Youth
Snow Treck for teens age
13 to 18 years. It runs
from 7 to 9:30 p.m.
This event is going to
be action packed with
games, music videos,
food and fun for all. This
event is host by the Ouesnel
Ministerial Association.
At 8 p.m. a Teen Pool
Party will start, with
music by Mad Dog
Sound. There will be
water volleyball, dancing
and some really unusual
activities hosted all in a
warm setting on a cold
winter's night. Dress to
have some fun in this
Ouesnel and District Arts
and Recreation Centre
