18 - Adjus tment of Limit SW itches
With the 'IO-pole transfer switch in the same position
as toggle switch No . 1, "inch" motor along under manua l control
by operating the "LEFT" or "RIGHT" push button unt il one l1niit
switch is opened. If opening the limit switch does not stop
motor travel, reverse connections to the limit switches.
19 - Left, Right , Automatic , Manua l Push Buttons
The IIAUTOMATIC" push button places the equipment under
automatic control, with the "LEFT" and "RIGHT" push buttons permitting
manua l control to bring the line or edge to the norma l
operating posit ion. If the "MANUAL" push button is operated,
only manua l control can be ob ta ined . If manua l control only is ·
desired for any continued run the scanner should be moved so
that the light circle falls entirely on the rubber roll .
Wlth the 10-pole transfer switch in the same position
as toggle switch No. 1 operate the push buttons and observe the
operation of the motor. If necessary , interchange connections
between right and left push buttons , to make the paper move to
the right or left when viewing it from the finishing end of the
winder.
20 Connections of Jumper lI to Resistor Termina ls
10.
The two 10-inch resistor tubes mounted at the top of
the panel are conneoted in series with the motor armature . By
short-circuit ing part of these resistors it is possible to in
crease the response of the reversing motor. It should be noted
that under no circumstances should more than two sections of the
resistors be short-'9 ircuited as this would damage the KU-628
tubes . The machine has been previously operated and the ,Q:onnec
tion giving satisfactory torque ha s been indicated and left thus
connected . However, if different respons e or rate of connection
is needed jump er 11 may be connected to a different resis.tor ter
mina l .
21 - Reconnection of Scanner for Light or Dark Operation
As shown in draw ing 2-A-4278 the scanner switch shOUld
be 0perated to I I DARKII or "LIGHT " position as indicated in
Table 1.
