Drift Away to Cancun
2011 Volume 1/2
Next time ASEA offers an incredible incentive vacation like this, it could be you! Think it’s impossible? Think again.
Check out what some of this year’s qualifiers had to say about getting to the top. Josy Latore, with 140 enrollment
cases says, “I like to use this phrase to stay motivated – ‘I am a woman on a mission.’ This was the motto I used
during the promotion. Not only was I a woman on a mission to get to Cancun, but more importantly I’m on a continuing
mission to give the ASEA opportunity to as many people as I can.” Josy certainly shared the ASEA message with a
lot of people! She had a wonderful time relaxing on the beach with her husband and friend Nereida Munoz (who sold
134 enrollment cases). Josy tells us, “It wasn’t just the trip…it was phenomenal training and getting in contact with
people who are having success with ASEA. I learned a lot from them!”
Lane Fujii also joined in the fun in Cancun. He’s says, “There’s nothing like being in Cancun at a beautiful resort. I
was excited about mingling with other ASEA Associates, rubbing shoulders with the Founders and Executives, and
absorbing and learning as much as possible.” Want to know Lane’s secret to success? He states, “There is no secret
to success. If you are new to ASEA, get in on one of these promotions ASAP to experience how the company does
things. They really do know how to treat people right.”
Drift Away To Cancun
By the time January and February rolls around, most of us are sick and tired of the cold, dreary winter months. A
vacation in a faraway land – a land of sun and sand – is constantly on the mind. For these ASEA Associates, a trip
to paradise wasn’t simply a fleeting thought…it was reality.
For months, these ASEA Associates worked hard to enroll people into this incredible business opportunity. In return
for their efforts, they earned a trip to Cancun! Take a look at the Associates who qualified for this trip with enrollment
“We are climbing to the top in ASEA and will take
anyone along with us that is up for the ride! When
we tell our team ‘Buckle your seat belts, ASEA
Associates,’ it’s because we know that they are in for
the best ride of their lives to be more and do more
than they ever have before.” Chuck and Tammi Gates
“I have so much more energy now. Anyone who
wants to get more out of their day and have more
energy in the process should drink ASEA. I simply
believe that ASEA gets my body organized, from the
inside, so it wants to function better.” Will Godfrey
SUCCESS PROFILES: Our ASEA Associates
2011 Volume 1/2
For Chuck and Tammi Gates of Helena, Montana, network marketing is not a
new concept. For over 20 years, this powerhouse couple has succeeded in
multiple MLM companies. The couple says, “We’ve been involved in the network
marketing world for over 20 years. We have been heavily involved in opening
Australia, England, Canada, and Mexico for other companies.” They continue,
“But it doesn’t take experience or success in network marketing to climb the ranks
and increase your bonus check. It takes an unshakable belief in the products,
an unshakable belief in the company, and an unshakable belief in yourself.” For
Chuck and Tammi, that unshakable belief has been found in ASEA.
Chuck and Tammi flew to ASEA headquarters to learn more about the company
and the product. They recall, “We thoroughly investigated this product, its science,
the company, and the executives.” With so much experience with other companies,
the couple knew exactly what they were looking for in a new opportunity. In fact,
Tammi made a list. Her list includes:
1. The product must work and work well.
2. They must trust and like the corporate leadership.
3. The executive team must have a number of “30-something” age group leading the company. Young,
vibrant, and educated leaders are a must.
4. They must have a strong upline commitment.
5. They must get in early, in a good field location.
6. The company must be financially solid.
Fortunately for the Gates, they found all of the qualities on their list – and more – with ASEA. Tammi says, “Chuck
and I have never been involved with anything that can compare with what we saw at the ASEA headquarters. We
have an unshakable belief in the product and the corporate team to provide an unparalleled business opportunity for
years and years to come.” Considering Chuck and Tammi have already risen to Platinum status, it’s clear the Gates
are fully invested in this company.
Although the couple has quickly risen in rank and has built a solid team, their favorite part about the business is the
ability to help other people build a business that brings financial freedom and financial dignity. Chuck says, “We want
to help people bring financial dignity to their family for generations and generations. We adore knowing we have a
‘big gun’ in our arsenal to help others with their wellness.”
The Gates do more than just talk about the business opportunity. They actually use the product in their daily lives.
They say, “We take ASEA twice a day and load up more if we are experiencing stress or health challenges.” They
continue, “Our energy levels are off the charts. If we have a busy day, we take an extra serving of ASEA to keep us
productive.”
The Gates have proven that success is possible with ASEA. Their advice for others looking to reach the highest
levels is this: “Jump in with both feet. If you don’t have enough time, pick the things in your life that can be put on
the back burner for a bit. You have to do what other people only dream about!”
Living a Complete Life
2011 Volume 1/2
For Sharolyn Eckerson, aging was not something she was doing
gracefully. Once 50 hit, Sharloyn found herself struggling with a number
of health issues that left her tired and out of energy. She recalls, “About
three years before I discovered ASEA, I started experiencing health
challenges that come along with life pressures and changes as we age.
Believe me, I tried everything that was natural to stay out of the hospital.”
She continues, “I was at the end of my rope and very unhappy because
I was having to rest quite a bit throughout the day.” Then, Sharolyn
found ASEA. She says, “Within a week of drinking ASEA, I felt like I had
my life back. I could be a mom and a wife again!” From that point on,
Sharolyn’s life changed, and so did the life of her husband, Ted.
Sharolyn and Ted have started to build a successful business with ASEA. Not only do they share the benefits of the
product with other people, but they are also avid users themselves. Sharloyn tells us, “I use ASEA all day, every day. I
think I have a spray bottle or an athletic pouch in just about every room of the house.” She goes on to say, “My purse
and each vehicle have a bottle ready to grab in an instant.” For the Eckersons, ASEA is a family affair. “Our teen boys
use it daily as well,” Sharolyn says. “We are ASEA lifers. We don’t ever want to be a day without our ASEA.”
Because the Eckersons love ASEA so much, they are dedicated to building a business and sharing ASEA with their
friends and family. Sharolyn exclaims, “My favorite part of this business has got to be the people we meet on a daily
basis. We get to share in the joys and the happy tears of how ASEA impacts lives in such a profound manner. We
know it works and it’s amazing. It’s fun to see the smiles with new friends as we link arms with purpose and passion.”
She goes on to say, “I just love sharing the story of how ASEA helped me and how thankful I am for it. Because I have
my life back, I now want to give others the very same opportunity. Words just cannot express the gratitude I have in
my heart.”
Even though Sharolyn and Ted love the product and believe in how it can change lives, they also know building a
business takes a lot of hard work and dedication. When it comes to building a strong business, Sharolyn says, “Enjoy
the journey. It’s a 3-5 year process and a commitment. You have to have conviction and passion to succeed.” She
goes on to say, “Ted and I realize we finally have a home with ASEA. This is a principle-based company, full of integrity
where they care for you like family. This is a place that we call home. There are so many opportunities for awesome
personal development. Knowing all of this makes the hard work worth it.”
ASEA is where the Eckersons want to stay. Sharolyn says, “We, the Associates, the management, and leaders are
sharing life together. I had such a profound experience and knew that we had found something special that very few
people had even heard about. We are in the business of changing lives and loving every minute of it!”
The Proof is in the Science
2011 Volume 1/2
Many people enjoy ASEA for the athletic benefits, the
increased endurance, balanced mood, and restful state
of mind. Dr. Dennis and Judy Downey also love ASEA
for these reasons, but their endorsement of ASEA goes
beyond how they feel. The Downeys, of Santa Fe, New
Mexico, are Bronze Executives and certainly know how
to share the ASEA message of health and well being.
When the Downeys first heard of ASEA, it was the
science that attracted them. The couple says, “ASEA is
one technology. It’s one product, with real science behind
it.” They continue, “When we tell our friends and family
about ASEA, we always tell them it is a new technology
that nobody else has heard of. We emphasize that ASEA works on a cellular level, so it’s good for our bodies. We
also tell others that ASEA gives the cells what they need in order to do amazing things in our bodies.”
The Downeys also practice what they preach. They not only talk about how ASEA helps the body, but they are avid
users of the product themselves. They say, “We personally take the product and have enormous faith in its ability to
help people take control of their health.” The couple goes on to say, “For this reason, we share it with everyone we
come in contact with.”
Sharing ASEA, the product and the message, is what has given the Downeys so much success thus far. Having
risen to the Bronze level, the Downeys recognize that it takes hard work, determination, and “walking the talk” in
order to find success within the company. In fact, the couple says, “Seeing people’s lives change and being a part of
something bigger than we can imagine is our favorite part of this business.” When the long days and struggles pop
up, the Downeys remember how ASEA is changing lives around the world. Then, they are re-energized and ready
to continue to share the message.
The Downeys have a key piece of advice for others looking to succeed with ASEA. They advise, “Think of why you
want to do this business. Set your goals and find four activities that you will be able to do every day that will help
you reach your goals.” The couple goes on to say, “Know that what you are doing with ASEA will change the world.
Dream and use your upline.”
This couple is certainly ready to continue growing with ASEA. They say, “We are dedicated to spreading ASEA all
over the world. We truly believe this task is an obligation, not an opportunity.”
BEHIND THE SCIENCE
A Conversation with Dr. Gary L. Samuelson
We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Dr. Gary Samuelson to learn more about the inner workings of the
human cell, and particularly about Redox Signaling.
ASEA: In the simplest of terms, what is Redox Signaling?
Dr. Samuelson: Redox Signaling is the most fundamental, elaborate communication network that signals for tissues
to heal themselves. At the hub of this network are the mitochondria. Every cell in our body contains mitochondria.
The mitochondria in our cells produce the fuel that is used to energize the cells and in the process, they also produce
reactive molecules. The reactive molecules are reductants and oxidants. The reductants pair up with our body’s
natural antioxidants to protect the cell. The oxidants are used by the immune system to destroy invading organisms
and help the cells communicate with each other when cells are damaged or under attack. This communication
network between the cells is known as Redox Signaling.
ASEA: What damages our cells?
Dr. Samuelson: Our cells are damaged every day. Sunlight, toxins, chemicals, injuries, and even exercise can cause
our cells to break down and become damaged. Anytime the chemistry of the cell is disturbed, damage can occur.
ASEA: What happens to our health when our cells are damaged?
Dr. Samuelson: Well, cell damage causes a chemical imbalance of reductants and oxidants in the cells and the blood
that normally leads to cell repair and replacement. If it does not, it can cause the immune system to attack healthy
cells, inflame tissues, and slow down the healing process. Not having enough oxidants cuts off the communication
process and allows damaged, infected, and malfunctioning cells to thrive, divide, and spread the damage. We need
to maintain a healthy chemical balance of reactive molecules – Redox Signaling molecules – in order to quickly heal
and sustain health.
ASEA: It seems like we can’t escape some damage, though. How do our bodies repair and protect the cells
from this damage?
Dr. Samuelson: You’re right, we can’t escape cellular damage, but our bodies are well equipped to repair themselves
and protect our cells when we are healthy. When the cell is disturbed, oxidants communicate to healthy cells nearby
that they have been damaged. The immune system is then activated and kills invading organisms. A healthy balance
is then restored after all of the invading organisms are killed, and cells will divide and regenerate the tissues.
ASEA: We know that sometimes cells are so damaged that they have to be destroyed. How do the healthy
cells replace those destroyed cells?
Dr. Samuelson: It’s pretty incredible. Once the invading organisms are killed and the damaged cells repaired, the
healthy cells divide and multiply to fill in the missing cells with healthy new cells.
ASEA: Explain a little bit more about how our body works on the cellular level.
2011 Volume 1/2
www.ASEA.net
Dr. Samuelson: Our bodies are constantly working to maintain optimum cellular health. This happens by balancing
reactive molecules to get rid of harmful components in the cell. Our bodies then repair or clean up the damaged
cells, those that have been damaged because of oxidative stress and free radicals, and replace them with healthy
cells, thus restoring proper balance.
ASEA: Can we enhance Redox Signaling in our bodies?
Dr. Samuelson: Yes! Increasing the amount of Redox Signaling carriers in our cells and tissues helps to make the
process of repairing and eliminating damaged cells much more efficient. Redox Signaling carriers make it more likely
that our cells are repaired and replaced more often. Healthy cells are better able to defend themselves and allow the
immune system to respond in the right way. When Redox Signaling is working properly in our cells, communication
between the cells is clearer and more efficient. Redox Signaling carriers simply help the communication process in
our cells become more efficient. Increasing the amount of balanced Redox Signaling molecules also helps to activate
the antioxidants that are already in the cells. When antioxidants are active, our natural protection is increased. This
makes healthy cells better able to defend themselves.
ASEA: How does Redox Signaling affect our cells when we exercise? Is there any effect?
9
2011 Volume 1/2
Dr. Samuelson: As energy needs for cells are increased during exercise, especially aerobic activity, oxygen and
sugars in the blood must be able to be transferred to our muscles. Waste, like CO2 and lactates also need to be
transferred out of the cells and into the blood to be released from the body. The efficiency with which the cells move
oxygen and fuel through the blood and cells determines how long our bodies can sustain aerobic activity. Basically,
Redox Signaling is the key to increasing endurance. Increasing the amount of balanced Redox Signaling molecules
in our bodies helps to normalize the cells and tissues. A balanced Redox Signaling process increases the efficiency
of moving oxygen through cells, making our exercise efforts more efficient.
Healthy bodies need healthy cells. Our cells are much more efficient at getting rid of harmful elements when Redox
Signaling is working at maximum capacity. We are less fatigued, have more energy, experience the effects of aging
less, and are healthier when Redox Signaling is working the way it should in our bodies.
The beautiful land of Hawaii is home to surfing, pineapple, warm days, plenty
of sunshine, and Merle Lam. Real estate agent, and resident of the tropical
land of Hawaii, Merle has found success selling houses to people who want to
make Hawaii home. Until last April. Merle recalls, “I started having some health
problems and they were affecting my career.” She continues, “I thought I would
have to go into early retirement and close my real estate business.” Then, Merle
was introduced to ASEA.
With Merle’s health getting worse by the day, at 69 years old she felt like she
had nothing to lose by trying ASEA. She says, “At first, I drank 2 ounces in
the morning and 2 ounces in the afternoon.” Thankfully, Merle started to see
improvement to her health. “By the fourth day, I noticed I was improving,” Merle
states. “After three weeks, my health was starting to stabilize and I felt better than
I had in a long time.”
For Merle, being able to participate in daily life again without major health concerns is how ASEA has made a difference.
She says, “I have my independence back! I own my own real estate company and I thought for sure I would have to
close my business after all of my health problems.” She goes on to say, “I just didn’t feel safe driving clients to view
properties with my health the way it was. When you’re a real estate agent, you have to be able to drive.” Now, with
her health on the right track, Merle is fully active in her business – and life – again. “ASEA is priceless,” Merle exclaims.
ASEA has certainly been a blessing in this consumer’s life. Merle feels like herself again and knows that life is still worth
living. ASEA has given this woman her confidence back.
FARTHER FASTER LONGER: Our ASEA Athletes
11
2011 Volume 1/2
It’s common knowledge that being a professional athlete takes skill, practice,
and lots of strength. When it comes to professional golf, all of these are true
– plus, you’ve got to take into account being on your feet for long periods of
time, overall flexibility, and knowing how to keep your mind on your game. The
longer you put your body through rigorous training sessions and competitive
games, the harder the consequences are on your body.
For Kristen Sunderhaft of Las Vegas, Nevada, all of these athletic abilities – and
consequences - play into her golf game. She recalls, “My joints were in really
bad shape after playing many sports and doing a lot of damage to my body.
Sitting for periods of time would be challenging, especially when it was time
to get back up.” She continues, “After being on the lesson tee and standing
on my feet all day, bending down, teeing the ball up for my students, or even
being on my knees for my junior golfers would be challenging. At times, joint
issues in my hands would even make it challenging to hold onto the golf club.”
For a professional golfer, these issues can quickly turn a promising career into early retirement. Kristen states, “Even
walking up stairs, with that nagging knee pain and stiffness, was a concern. Add an annoying upper back issue to
the stack and my tournament golf play was being affected. I thought I would have to quit.”
That was all before Kristen was introduced to ASEA. Just over a year ago, Kristen’s friend, neighbor, and golf student
Paul Taira introduced her to ASEA. Kristen says, “Paul always seems to be in the know about wellness products.
He knew about my health challenges and was well aware of how tired I was at the end of the day – physically and
mentally.” Paul insisted that Kristen try ASEA. And she did. She happily recalls, “I personally noticed a difference
the next morning. When I was getting out of bed, it wasn’t as much of a challenge to move. That was 15 months
ago and I feel the best I have ever felt. My mood is balanced and I feel very calm. I have much more energy and my
memory has improved. “
For Kristen, ASEA is a part of her everyday life. She states, “The first thing I do in the morning is feed my Beagles.
Then, I go straight to the kitchen and take my 2 ounces of ASEA. I also take another 2 ounces right before bed.”
She goes on to say, “If I am hitting the gym or riding my mountain bike, I’ll take another 2-ounce shot to help with
my endurance and then another 2 ounces right after for a quick recovery.” This method works for Kristin and she’s
noticed the difference in her performance – and life. She says, “In the past, after a few holes on the golf course I was
tired and felt like I was falling apart. Now, I have the energy to keep playing and I don’t have that exhausted feeling
after I play a round. I am more alert physically and mentally.”
On or off the golf course, ASEA is now a part of Kristen’s life. She states, “I am a walking ASEA billboard! ASEA
works and I want to share my story with others. It’s an incredible feeling to be the one that introduces a life-changing
product to someone else.”
Running with ASEA
12
2011 Volume 1/2
Avid runner, fitness coach, and now ASEA user David Stretanski is a believer.
He believes in the power of a healthy lifestyle and physical exercise, but he
recently discovered that he believes in ASEA as well. “I started using ASEA
in November 2010 just two weeks before an ultramarathon (50 miles),”
states David. “During the event, I noticed less muscle fatigue and tension.
After the event, I had less overall fatigue and a quicker recovery. I was back
to running sooner and with more energy.” That’s all it took for David to start
drinking ASEA every day.
David is an ultramarathon racer. For most people, just hearing the word
“marathon” sparks a new level of fear and anxiety. For David, he takes the
26.2 mile marathon even further. Basically, an ultramarathon is any footrace
that is over the standard marathon race. Typically, an ultramarathon begins
at about 50 miles, but they can go much farther than that. The longest
ultramarathon in the world is The Ultimate Ultra, a 1300-mile race held
in New York every fall. Most ultramarathons are run on roads, trails, or
tracks. It’s plain to see that training for such a race is extremely intense.
That’s why David incorporates ASEA into his training schedule. David says,
“I currently use ASEA daily and also add ASEA before and after longer
training runs. It continues to help me train with more energy, strength, and
quicker recovery.”
In addition to David’s demanding training schedule, he is also a fitness coach. David’s specialty lies in
ChiRunning and ChiWalking. David enjoys sharing the simple principles of fitness that help people gain
efficient and consistent mobility. He utilizes these principles with his clients, but also on a personal level.
With such a strong fitness background, David recognizes that solid nutrition and healthy supplements will
help athletes perform better.
While ASEA is excellent for athletes, David notices a difference in all aspects of his life. He says, “ASEA
enhances every part of my life. I have more energy every day to focus on my goals, including a demanding
fitness coaching business and personal fitness program.” Add to that the ability to focus, and ASEA can
also help your body to operate efficiently. David says, “My body seems to handle fluctuations in fitness,
dietary, and mental stress much better. I have more energy all day long.”
Whether your goal is to run a 50-mile ultramarathon, like David, or you simply want to set some goals to
live a healthier life, add ASEA to your routine. See for yourself if ASEA can change your life.
Less than a month after it was announced, the ASEA 20/20 Club has
skyrocketed, with 26 Associates achieving club membership and all the
benefits that come with it. These Associates are realizing that success with
the 20/20 Club automatically means success with ASEA.
“When I started the 20/20 program,” says Patricia Tamowski, a Director
700, “I suddenly realized that I hadn’t signed up anyone in about a month.
But using the 20/20 system, I enrolled nine new Associates and Preferred
Customers with 25 cases…and I did it in eight days! This is the perfect
system anyone who wants to grow their business.”
Patricia isn’t the only one who’s learned that 20/20 means success. Ron
Singleton, also a Director 700, has already completed two circuits of 20/20
Club certification. When asked how he accomplished so much in such a
short period of time, Ron says, “It’s all about making your list, then working
with your mentor.” Ron’s mentors are Brandon and Meagan Coffey, Silver
Executives from Lexington, Kentucky. “They have been great,” Ron
continues. “They really understand the business, and that helps me as I
bring new Associates onto my team.”
Joe Utley, a Director 300 who quickly qualified with six new enrollments
and 13 cases, also has high praise for his mentor, Carlton Sherrod. “He
was a big part of my success. He has a way of internalizing all of the most
important details and enthusiastically sharing the story with others. I talked
to him every day and he helped me with three-way calls and meetings.”
So how, exactly, do Associates at any level achieve membership in the
ASEA 20/20 Club? According to successful club members, it’s through
focus and consistency. “I made a list of people who I thought would be
interested,” says Joe. “I made 20 calls a day with a sheet of paper in front
of me that listed all of the most exciting things I’ve learned about ASEA.
And I made sure to follow up quickly with everyone by making notes on my
schedule.” Follow-up was also key for Patricia. “I believe that fortune is in
the follow-up,” she notes. “Before the 20/20 Club, I would send out lots of
emails, but then hardly every follow up. The 20/20 system gave me good
structure for following up quickly.”
All three of these incredible Associates had essentially the same advice
for others who want the benefits of 20/20 Club membership: Just do it.
“Make your list, know what you’re going to say, and commit to making a
certain number of calls each day,” advises Joe. Ron agrees: “Start with
your personal ASEA story, but commit to telling that story to everyone on
your list.” And Patricia says never give up: “Just do it, even if you aren’t
successful the first time. You’ll learn so much and be so prepared for the
next time, and the next!”
Want to join the ASEA 20/20 Club and receive everything club membership
has to offer? Go to your back office, and under Resource > 20/20 Club
you’ll find everything you need. Then watch your own business skyrocket,
with the ASEA 20/20 Club!
THANK YOU FOR CALLING ASEA: Our Associate Support Team
First of all, I’d just like to say how thankful I am to get to work with ASEA
Associates every day. As an Associate Support representative, I get to talk to
those on the front line every single day. It’s a pleasure to be associated with
such hard working people. It’s because of our great sales team that I love my
job so much!
I started working at ASEA in August 2010. Since then, I’ve come to discover
that ASEA is such a great company to work for. I love the atmosphere in
the corporate office. We all work as a team to make sure our processes are
effortless. It’s nice to know you can work for a company that values their
employees and their efforts.
I’m originally from Mexico City, but I grew up in the United States. My parents
decided to move to Utah when I was seven years old. I’m the middle child, with one older brother and one younger
sister. I love my family and consider myself to be a very family-oriented person. We like to spend as much time
together as possible. We are a very strong family and enjoy taking yearly trips to new places.
When I’m not working at ASEA, I like to play sports. I’ve played sports for as long as I can remember and I have
no intention of stopping anytime in the near future! I played college soccer for a few years and participated in track,
soccer, football, basketball, and tennis in high school. I play the guitar and also enjoy writing my own music. On top
of all of that, I’m a student at the University of Utah studying Social Behavioral Sciences.
I’m thrilled to be a part of the ASEA team. The absolute best part about working for ASEA is the immense impact
that we have on other people’s lives. I enjoy helping people improve their health and their financial situation. At ASEA,
we are able to share an innovative product with the world. I consider this an honor and intend to help our valuable
Associates in a caring and appreciative manner.
