WASTE SORTING GUIDE
Förenklad sorteringsguide på engelska
På återvinningscentralen lämnar du kostnadsfritt sådant avfall som uppstår i den vanliga skötseln av ditt hushåll. Betalat har du redan
gjort genom renhållningstaxan. Kom ihåg att ta med bärhjälp om du ska lämna tunga saker. Personalen på plats hjälper dig gärna med
sortering och rådgivning men får tyvärr inte hjälpa till att lyfta och lasta av. OBS! För företag gäller särskilda regler och avgifter, se bladets
baksida.
At the recycling centre, you can deposit waste generated as part of your daily home life free of charge. You have already paid through
the waste charge (renhållningstaxan). Remember to take somebody with you to help carry heavy items. The staff on site will be happy
to help you with sorting and advice, but are unfortunately unable to help with lifting and unloading. Note: There are special rules and
charges for businesses – see back page.

TIDNINGAR / NEWSPAPERS
Newspapers and magazines, direct mail, catalogues and other
clean paper.
Not paper with glue, plastic, wax or other impurities, self-sealing
envelopes, window envelopes, carbon paper, books and gift wrapping.
Place these items in the container for combustible materials.
WELLPAPP / CARDBOARD
Empty cardboard boxes and cardboard packaging. These must be
flattened.
TRÄ / WOOD
Both painted and unpainted wood. For example: boards, crates,
bookshelves, chipboard, hardboard and broken wooden furniture.
(Screws, nails and fittings do not need to be removed.)
Not pressure-treated wood. Not railway sleepers.
BRÄNNBART AVFALL / COMBUSTIBLE WASTE
Small items of furniture such as chairs, duvets, carpets, clothing
and other textiles, foam rubber, plastic items, kitchen utensils,
toys, sports equipment, window envelopes, self-sealing envelopes,
plastic coated or waxed paper, wallpaper, painted masking
tape and similar.
GIPS / PLASTERBOARD
Most of our recycling centres accept plasterboard. Even painted
sheets and sheets covered with wallpaper are accepted.
Remove any studs and tiles.
TRÄDGÅRDSAVFALL / GARDEN WASTE
Twigs, branches, cuttings from trees and bushes, leaves, grass,
moss and windfall fruit.
Not plastic sacks, paper sacks or pots. Place empty sacks in combustible
waste or in the special containers provided.
R E S Å R m ö B L E R / SPRUNG FURNITURE
Some of our recycling centres sort sofas and beds with coils and
steel springs separately. If there is no such sorting option, sort
sprung furniture as non-recyclable waste.
Not foam mattresses, pillows or stuffed furniture without springs.
Place these items in the container for combustible materials.
JORD, STEN, TEGEL OCH BETONG /
SOIL, STONE, TILES AND CONCRETE
Sanitary ware such as toilet bowls or bidets, tiles, expanded clay,
concrete blocks, plates, dishes, pots and urns. Set cement and
putty without packaging. Empty out sacks and boxes!
VITVAROR / WHITE GOODS
Cookers, drying cupboards/tumble dryers, dishwashers and washing
machines made for domestic use.
KYL/FRYS / FRIDGES/FREEZERS
Fridges and freezers made for domestic use. Note: Fridges and
freezers contain CFCs and must be handled with care.
Not fridges and freezers made for use in stores/catering kitchens.
EJ ÅTERVINNINGSBART / NON-RECYCLABLE
For example rolls of carpet, railway sleepers and insulation.
Note: Sprung furniture is sorted as non-recyclable waste if no
separate sorting facility is available.
ELEKTRONIK / ELECTRICALS
Everything with a power cable or battery, e.g. TVs and radios,
computers, vacuum cleaners, mobile phones, electrical toys,
microwave ovens and so on.
mETALLSKROT / SCRAP METAL
For example bicycles, pushchair frames, bathtubs, sinks, storage
containers and other items made of metal.

mIL JöSTATIONEN / ENVIRONMENTAL STATION
Bilbatterier, lysrör, glödlampor /
Car batteries, fluorescent tubes, lightbulbs
There are specific containers for these. Contact staff about backup
batteries and NiFe batteries.
Småbatterier / Small batteries
There are battery bins for these.
Farligt avfall / Hazardous waste
Leftover paint, varnish, glue, oil, solvents, cleaning agents, class 3
pesticides, other chemicals and mercury thermometers count as
hazardous waste.
These are to be sorted according to instructions at the recycling
station. The content must be clearly stated on the packaging!
Labels are available for this purpose.

SÄRSKILD INFORmATION TILL FöRETAG / SPECIFIC INFORMATION FOR BUSINESSES
Businesses may deposit small quantities of bulky waste at the recycling centre for a fee. Payment is made using coupons that can be
ordered in books of ten (see below). In the case of one-off visits, it is possible to pay by card at the recycling centre, but the charge is
then higher.
The rules and instructions that apply for households also apply to businesses. However, there are certain restrictions.
Elavfall / Electrical waste is accepted by KS Recycling at Bjurögatan 43 in Malmö, Hedeskoga waste facility in Ystad or Måsalycke waste
facility in Sankt Olof. Electrical waste not covered by producer responsibility will incur a charge.
Farligt avfall / Hazardous waste, e.g. white goods such as fridges and freezers, from businesses are to be taken to Sysav’s facility for
hazardous waste on Spillepengsgatan in Malmö, tel: 040-635 19 00 or Måsalycke waste facility in Sankt Olof, tel: 0414-285 70
Köp av kuponger / Buying coupons
A book of ten coupons can be ordered by making a payment to bankgiro 235-6541. For the latest prices visit www.sysav.se or call Customer
Service. Mark the payment “Företagskuponger” (Business coupons) and enter the name and address where the coupons are to be sent. If
the address cannot be included, e-mail it to epost@sysav.se or fax it to 040-635 18 10. The book of coupons will arrive within a few days.
The coupons are valid at all our recycling centres.
Återvinningscentral för företag / Recycling centre for businesses
Lorries over 3.5 tonnes are welcome at a special recycling centre for
unloading by hand at Spillepeng waste facility in Malmö or any of our
waste facilities in Ystad, Sankt Olof or Trelleborg.
