This ancient record is written in the Dutch language and is here reproduced with full consciousness of the
misspellings, and with no desire or attempt to correct this orthography or to effect any rearrangement, but, to
the contrary, with every effort to make it verbatim et literatim. This course has been pursued because any attempt
to arrange the names alphabetically or the dates chronologically would result in omitting valuable notes and confusing
dates which need oftentimes the adjacent text to confirm them.
The English equivalents of some of the Dutch words are added, believing they may be useful.
It is well to bear in mind that in old writing the letters f and f and i and j are often so alike as to cause
doubt in transcribing, especially proper names.
