On November 7, Mount Vernon College celebrated<br />

Founder's Day, The day began with Panel Discussions in<br />

Clark and Cole Lounges. The discussions where both recent<br />

and past alumnae headed who spoke of the critical choices<br />

they in their lives, and how Mount Vernon contributed to<br />

those choices.<br />

The next activity was a fireside chat with Mrs. Barbara<br />

Bush, the Vice President's wife, an honorary Mount Vernon<br />

College alumna. Mrs. Bush discussed her own experiences<br />

and choices in life in an informal gathering in Post Hall.<br />

After the discussion, the second and third generation<br />

students were joined by Mrs, Bush in cutting the traditional<br />

Founder's Day cake for a reception recognizing Mt, Vernon's<br />

honor students.<br />

The day was concluded by a formal candlelight dinner.<br />

After dinner Mt. Vernon's student modeled in some of the<br />

Fashions of the Eleven Decades. It featured historical<br />

sketches and clothing, styles of every decade from 1875 to<br />

today. It was a great ending to Mount Vernon's Founder's<br />

Day, We are look forward to another exciting Founder's Day<br />

next year.<br />
