the simple fact that we like creating new events has a lot
to do with our intrinsic entrepreneurial spirit. and whenever
we are offered an event, we are often praised for how wellorganised
it is, whether it is a conference for europe’s creative
elite or a qualifying round for the swedish entry for the
eurovision song contest. But the fact that we can and we
want to is not the most important thing. no, the fact that we
know how, that we know when and that you feel incredibly
welcome – that is even more important.

certain you will find it quite infectious, this
enthusiasm skellefteå inhabitants have for
meeting each other in happy circumstances.
we’ll often get a little idea and in such a
spirit of entrepreneurialism... well, of course
we can organize a small festival around it,
can’t we? it may be large, it may be unusual,
it may be for children, it may be for 70,000
visitors and, more than likely, it may also be
free. it may taste good and it may do good.

THE TräsTock fEsTival
one of sweden’s most popular musical festivals.
as usual, there will be a wonderful selection of
around 100 acts. everything from local bands
and musical celebrities will mix with sing-alongs
– and entry is free as always.
sTadsfEsTEn
stadsfesten in skellefteå is one of swedish
Lapland’s largest summer events, attracting
around 90,000-100,000 visitors during the
five-day event every year.
maTfEsTEn
a festival focusing on the regional food culture.
for four days, a huge number of culinary experiences
will be available: elegant, robust, exotic,
traditional… there’s something for all tastes.
