range of handicrafts from swedish Lapland and the
more immediate area. materials used include textiles,
ceramics, glass, metal and wood. the shop also sells
delicacies such as arctic raspberries, cloudberries and

lövånger kyrkstad, Q18, history tells us that the
church cottages served as overnight accommodation
for farmers visiting the church. this was in fact already
referred to on a map from 1642 and the oldest
known cottage today dates back to 1746.
museum anna nordlander, c4,

venue with a focus on contemporary art and gender
issues. using art as the basis, we want to question
norms and reflect on issues concerning gender and

headstrong, original artwork using a wide range of
techniques and materials. the artist is represented at
moderna museet and nationalmuseum in stockholm.
this summer, work is also being displayed by torfrid’s

gallery in northern sweden. with guest speakers and
contemporary photography exhibitions. we show new
and up-and-coming talents as well as established photographers.

schillmarksgården, p12, hembygdsområdet,

www.drangsmark.se. nils schillmark was born in 1745
in drängsmark and considered to be one of the foremost
portrait painters of the gustavian era. the exhibition
displays copies of some of schillmark’s work. the
sawmill epoch is shown in another room. the kitchen
is furnished in the style of a kitchen from the end of the

skellefteakonsthall. skellefteå art gallery is located
at nordanå and has a varied range of exhibitions,
lectures, workshops and other events. skellefteå art
gallery’s aim is to convey and examine the issues relating
to the contemporary art scene locally, nationally

skellefteå museum is situated at nordanå – a cultural
area in central skellefteå. why not visit the old kågegården
house in the grounds or join in with one of our
various activities. keep a lookout for more informa-
tion on our website about guided tours around the city
during the summer. skellefteå museum’s village shop
and café sells gifts for all occasions and is open daily
from 12 pm to 4 pm between 13 may and 25 august.

genuine mill environment from the 1940s that encourages
conversation and thoughts of days gone by.
visitors are welcome to stroll around and take a look at
the old machines which have been left in their original
condition. the building has been carefully renovated
in order to preserve the feel and atmosphere within its

rooted here and the region has a living library operation.

a major part of the museum anna nordlander art collection

The meijer collection, c4, nordanå.

works by skellefteå artist sture meijer, and includes
everything from oil paintings and gouaches to sculptures
and graphic art. each year the collection is rehung
to bring out different approaches and themes. open:

The storytellers’ city. www.destinationskelleftea.se/
berattandet. in 2010, skellefteå proclaimed itself the
storytellers’ city. this was partly a direct and natural
consequence of our literary heritage, from those
raised in the countryside whose lives were shaped by
the landscape. But it was also thanks to the region’s
lengthy tradition of verbal storytelling. so if you want to
step into sara Lidman’s hjortronland, wander through
p o enquist’s childhood memories or experience the
narratives delivered at the annual storytelling festival,
you can do this in skellefteå – the storytellers’ city.
vävstugan på nordanå, c4, skellefteå.

cloth on one of the skellefteå vävstuge förening’s
ten weaving looms, one of which is for children. a vävstugan
staff member is available to give assistance.
this summer, a few looms will be used for rosepath
