When and where did your company start?<br />

Our history as Orangefield began <strong>in</strong> the late 1970s with ING Trust<br />

<strong>in</strong> The Netherlands. A decade later, the <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong> <strong>of</strong>fice was<br />

established. In 2001, ING Trust acquired the <strong>Dutch</strong> company Intra<br />

Beheer, and ING Trust Luxembourg later merged with BBL Trust <strong>in</strong><br />

2003. Supported by an <strong>in</strong>vestment company <strong>in</strong> 2007, the activities<br />

<strong>of</strong> ING Trust worldwide cont<strong>in</strong>ued under the name <strong>of</strong> Orangefield.<br />

S<strong>in</strong>ce then, we have strategically expanded our network with <strong>of</strong>fices<br />

across Asia, Africa, Americas, Europe and the Caribbean. Our head<br />

<strong>of</strong>fice rema<strong>in</strong>s <strong>in</strong> the Netherlands, Amsterdam.<br />

In 2012, Orangefield <strong>Hong</strong> <strong>Kong</strong> acquired ICS Trust, and<br />

renamed it to Orangefield ICS. Add<strong>in</strong>g to our global <strong>of</strong>fer<strong>in</strong>g is<br />

over 30 years <strong>of</strong> experience <strong>in</strong> Do<strong>in</strong>g Bus<strong>in</strong>ess <strong>in</strong> Ch<strong>in</strong>a.<br />

What makes your company unique?<br />

It is not a cliché that the people makes the company, especially<br />

<strong>in</strong> the services’ <strong>in</strong>dustry, and <strong>in</strong> our case, it really does, which<br />

ultimately comes from us be<strong>in</strong>g part <strong>of</strong> a global group that is<br />

<strong>Dutch</strong> based whilst be<strong>in</strong>g tolerant <strong>of</strong> the various customs and<br />

cultures whilst do<strong>in</strong>g bus<strong>in</strong>ess. Moreover, we feel that our<br />

entrepreneurial, “can do” attitude meets the needs <strong>of</strong> our client.<br />

Why is your company an example <strong>of</strong> <strong>Dutch</strong> <strong>Excellence</strong>?<br />

We cont<strong>in</strong>uously aim to build upon our <strong>in</strong>ternational reputation<br />

by be<strong>in</strong>g an expert <strong>in</strong> our field <strong>of</strong> bus<strong>in</strong>ess and <strong>in</strong> provid<strong>in</strong>g<br />

exceptional service to all our clients across the world. With 19<br />

<strong>of</strong>fices spann<strong>in</strong>g the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, Caribbean<br />

and still expand<strong>in</strong>g, we are <strong>in</strong> an excellent position to serve our<br />

clients with a range <strong>of</strong> tailored solutions while still rema<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g a<br />

<strong>Dutch</strong> organization with <strong>Dutch</strong> staff <strong>in</strong> key positions with<strong>in</strong> our<br />

company<br />

As a global company and global citizen, we actively play a part<br />

<strong>in</strong> bridg<strong>in</strong>g the different cultures whilst tak<strong>in</strong>g advantages <strong>of</strong><br />

opportunities that arise to facilitate a global marketplace. One <strong>of</strong><br />

our core services, Do<strong>in</strong>g Bus<strong>in</strong>ess <strong>in</strong> Ch<strong>in</strong>a, creates a channel<br />

that connects western companies with Ch<strong>in</strong>a, and similarly,<br />

Ch<strong>in</strong>a with the outside world.<br />

What are your company’s future ambitions <strong>in</strong> Asia?<br />

Towards 2013, Orangefield ICS has plans for both the global<br />

and local markets <strong>in</strong> relation to Asia. Globally, to provide<br />

support to the many Canadian and European clients that are<br />

do<strong>in</strong>g bus<strong>in</strong>ess <strong>in</strong> Ch<strong>in</strong>a for the first time. Locally, we launched<br />

a Shanghai <strong>of</strong>fice last year and will be look<strong>in</strong>g to open more<br />

<strong>of</strong>fices <strong>in</strong> Ch<strong>in</strong>a soon to assist ma<strong>in</strong>land bus<strong>in</strong>esses <strong>in</strong> explor<strong>in</strong>g<br />

<strong>in</strong>ternational markets.<br />

Further, we pay a lot <strong>of</strong> attention to the developments with<strong>in</strong><br />

Ch<strong>in</strong>a and the opportunities this will br<strong>in</strong>g to us to support<br />

Ch<strong>in</strong>ese clients do<strong>in</strong>g bus<strong>in</strong>ess abroad. We have seen similar<br />

developments with other countries <strong>in</strong> the region (Japan,<br />

Korea, Taiwan) and will strive to create successful<br />

relationships with clients and bus<strong>in</strong>ess partners <strong>in</strong> these<br />

emerg<strong>in</strong>g economies.<br />
