homeless person.” His most<br />
recent novels are The<br />
Widow And Her Hero, The<br />
People's Train and The<br />
Daughters Of Mars. He has<br />
also written several works of<br />
non-fiction, including his<br />
boyhood memoir<br />
Homebush Boy, The<br />
Commonwealth Of Thieves<br />
and Searching For<br />
Schindler. He is married with<br />
two daughters and lives in<br />

year’s tour as we visit the<br />
birthplace of the great<br />
North Kerry writer Maurice<br />
Walsh in Lisselton. We cross<br />
the Cashen River at the<br />
Ferry Bridge and travel<br />
along the ‘Ladies Walk’ to<br />
Rattoo Round Tower and<br />
the site of the Augustinian<br />
monastery. Our tour<br />
continues along the plains<br />
of North Kerry across the<br />
River Brick to the village of<br />
Lixnaw, the ancestral seat<br />
of the Fitzmaurices, Lords of<br />
Kerry. We finish our tour in<br />
Finuge remembering the<br />
great ballad writer Sean<br />
McCarthy. Light<br />
refreshments will be served<br />
in McCarthy's Bar, Finuge<br />
with entertainment<br />
provided by our regular<br />
musicians and singers. Our<br />
tour returns to <strong>Listowel</strong> at<br />
