4/17 Collins Elementary third grade students are visiting the John Ball Park Zoo as part of the Science<br />

children’s garden. The students will plant flowers, clean the garden area, and work<br />

4/19 Collins Elementary first grade students will visit the Children’s Museum to see “Izzy’s<br />

4/20 Northern Trails sixth grade students will celebrate Earth Day, by joining Mark Fitzpatrick,<br />

Director of Ada Township Parks and Recreation, to assist in a clean up in and around Ada<br />

Park. Along with collecting trash, students will also pull Garlic Mustard (which is an invasive<br />

4/24 The Senior Learning Café presents: The Creative Art of Hurling Epithets. If you can remember<br />

which TV character kept telling his wife to “stifle!” If you know what it means to be “hornswaggled,”<br />

“hoodwinked,” or have ever been sold a “rinky-dink” product by a professional “swizzler,” then Dave


Wallace has a collection of very old and very new terms for self-expression. Lunch is at noon;<br />

program at 12:45. Cost: $6 per person for lunch and program ($8 for non-residents); $2 for program<br />

4/26-27 FHN presents FAME - The Musical from the hit motion picture, television series, and international<br />

stage success; FAME is nothing short of a global phenomenon. Set during the last years of New<br />

York City's celebrated High School for the Performing Arts on 46th Street (1980-1984), FAME - The<br />

Musical is bittersweet but ultimately inspiring story of a group of students as they commit to four<br />

years of grueling artistic and academic work. Come join the members of the FHN musical theater<br />

class as they bring this hit to the stage. Tickets are $5 for students, $7 for adults, and available at<br />

5/23 Forest Hills Senior Center along with Saint Mary’s Health Care present the Healthy Living<br />

Lecture Series. Professionals from Saint Mary’s Health Care will present information on today’s<br />

current health topics. Attendees will enjoy the audience-friendly format of 30-minute presentations<br />

with 15 minutes for questions and answers. Health screenings, massages, and general<br />

informational materials also will be available from 1:00 - 4:00 p.m., at the Fine Arts Center.<br />

5/24 Collins Elementary School will celebrate Global Learning Day. Students in each classroom<br />

are researching all areas of their assigned countries; flags, environment, clothing,<br />

holidays, currency, food, music, landmarks, and other interesting facts. They will display<br />

their information in the gymnasium and students will use “passports” to visit each of the<br />
