practice. Ultimately, the thesis allows the program staff to evaluate a
student's overall performance and hence functions as the final hurdle to be
taken before graduation.
The graduation workshop is attended by at least three students, who give a
presentation on their thesis. At least two faculty members (including
the thesis supervisor) of the program attend the workshop as well as at least
one member of the Advisory Board. All the participants receive the thesis
well in advance, to prepare questions. The attending faculty and Advisory
Board members on the basis of the thesis, the presentation, and
the opposition given to fellow students during the workshop determine the
final grade.
