§ Of the stocked forest volume (29.4 billion m 3 ), the species distribution is:<br />

§ 77% coniferous;<br />

§ 23% broad-leaved.<br />

§ Spruce, pine, balsam fir and aspen/poplar are the major species.<br />

§ Of the stocked forest area, an estimated:<br />

§ 31% is young;<br />

§ 37% is mature or overmature;<br />

§ 32% is uneven aged or unclassified for maturity.<br />
