The Orange County Transportation
Authority is seeking volunteers to serve on the
11-member Measure M Taxpayers Oversight
Committee. Measure M is the half-cent sales
tax used to fund transportation improvements
in Orange County.
Open positions are in the the first, second,
fourth and fifth supervisorial districts.

Housing for Vets
OC Housing Authority
Receives $884,560
to Assist Homeless Vets
This funding is a portion of the $75
million apporpriated to the US Dept of
Housing & Urban Development for 2012
in a joint effort with the US Dept. of
Veterans Affiars and local housing authorities
to provide permanent housing and
supportive services for homeless veterans.
The funds will provide an addtional 75
Housing Choice Vouchers that are
reserved for homeless single vets or vets
with families. Qualified vets receive a
voucher and are able to rent apartments,
condos or homes from participating property
owners. The program is expected to
be funded this month and will expand the
number of homeless vets served to 370.

to VASH veterans or other low-income
households, contact the OC Housing
