At <strong>Frankfurt</strong> <strong>Airport</strong>, FraCareServices provides personalised<br />
assistance for disabled passengers and those with limited<br />
mobility free of charge. To take advantage of this service,<br />
please contact your airline or travel agent at least 48 hours<br />
prior to departure. For security reasons, it is not possible for<br />
you to book this service directly.<br />
P<strong>ark</strong>ing for disabled persons is available in the p<strong>ark</strong>ing facility<br />
P 4 at Terminal 1 and the p<strong>ark</strong>ing facility P 8 at Terminal 2.<br />
Simply follow the signs. If you are arriving or leaving by<br />
train, you can obtain assistance by calling the Mobility<br />
Service Office of Deutsche Bahn at<br />
+49 (0) 180 5 512512 (€ 0.14/min).**<br />
On the day of your departure, go to your airline‘s check-in<br />
desk as usual, or to one of the call points to notify the service<br />
that you have arrived. There are call points around the ter-<br />
minals (please see the map on page 38 for their locations).<br />

Whether you are departing from Terminal 1 or 2, you can<br />

more than 14,000 vehicles, which are conveniently located<br />

use them without making reservations in advance or<br />

From Train to Plane and Back Again<br />
The regional and long distance train stations are optimally<br />
linked to the airport terminals (see map on page 38).<br />
g <strong>You</strong> can walk straight to Terminal 1.<br />
g It only takes a few minutes to get to Terminal 2 by<br />
shuttle bus (leaves from the bus station in zone B in<br />
front of Terminal 1) or Sky Line (leaves from Concourse<br />
B in Terminal 1).<br />
g Regional train station (S-Bahn metropolitan trains, re-<br />
gional and local services): Terminal 1, access via Level 0<br />
g Long-distance train station: opposite Terminal 1<br />
Bus Connections<br />
g To nearby towns and cities from Terminal 1 (public<br />
bus station, bays 14-24) and from Terminal 2<br />
g Lufthansa airport buses to Heidelberg, Mannheim, and<br />
Strasbourg: from Terminal 1, Concourse B West (Arri-<br />

There are Deutsche Bahn (DB) Travel Centers and Service Points<br />
at the regional train station and the AIRail terminal, open from<br />
6 a.m. to 9 p.m. For long-distance train connections, please<br />
consult our journey planner at www.frankfurt-airport.com, or<br />
the DB Travel Service at +49 (0) 180 5 996633 (€ 0.14/min).*<br />
Within Germany, you can take advantage of reduced price<br />
Rail&Fly tickets for travel to the airport; information is<br />
available from your airline and DB.<br />

Good to Know. Getting to the <strong>Airport</strong> by Bus or Train<br />
Commuter Trains (S-Bahn)<br />
<strong>You</strong> can take the S 8 and S 9 trains from the airport straight<br />
to <strong>Frankfurt</strong>, Wiesbaden, Mainz, Kelsterbach, Offenbach, and<br />
Hanau. Change trains at <strong>Frankfurt</strong>/Main central station for<br />
other cities.<br />
Lufthansa AIRail Service<br />
To take advantage of Lufthansa’s AIRail service, you must<br />
check in and get your boarding pass at least 15 minutes<br />
before the train leaves. If you are traveling from Cologne and<br />
Stuttgart, you can take advantage of the convenient online<br />
or mobil check-in service or go to the Lufthansa check-in<br />
desk to get all boarding passes.<br />
Lufthansa passengers originating in Siegburg/Bonn can<br />
check in from a smartphone up to 15 minutes before<br />
the train leaves the Cologne central station; a Mobile<br />
Boarding Pass is sent to their phone. They can also check in<br />
and print out their boarding passes at home.<br />
Check-in at the Siegburg/Bonn station is not possible.<br />
They can then check their luggage at the baggage drop<br />
at the AIRail Terminal at <strong>Frankfurt</strong> <strong>Airport</strong>. More information<br />
is available at www.lufthansa.com.<br />
Tip: Check-in at the AIRail Terminal<br />
If you are arriving by train, you can use the convenient<br />
luggage check-in at the AIRail Terminal (on the pedestrian<br />
bridge connecting the long-distance train station and<br />
Terminal 1). See pages 12–15 for a list of the airlines that<br />
offer this service.<br />

Those arriving by train can use the convenient check-in at the AIRail Terminal.<br />

Please have your flight documents, ID or passport, and visa<br />
(if required) ready. A number of airlines also offer online<br />
check-in services or quick check-in machines. We recommend<br />
to be at airport about three hours ahead of time.<br />

Tip: The Night Before Check-in<br />
Please consult the table on pages 12-15 to see<br />
whether your airline offers this service.<br />
Luggage Regulations and Checks<br />
Prior to departure, you and both your checked and carry-on<br />
bags are screened for forbidden objects. <strong>You</strong> can view the<br />
list of objects that are not allowed at<br />
www.frankfurt-airport.com. <strong>You</strong>r checked-in bags are<br />
automatically checked. It may occasionally be necessary to<br />
open a bag when you are not present. Lock them in the<br />
usual way, but please do not use any padlocks.<br />
Dangerous Goods<br />
<strong>You</strong> are not allowed to travel with any hazardous goods. For<br />
a detailed list of items that are allowed and prohibited in carry-<br />
on and checked luggage, go to www.frankfurt-airport.com<br />
then Check-in & Luggage, Baggage, Dangerous Goods.<br />
Automated Border Checks<br />
In Terminal 1, Concourse B, Level 2 (when leaving Germany)<br />
and Level 3 (when entering Germany), you can pass the<br />
border check with a digital iris scan. If you have a valid<br />
machine-readable passport, you can register for this option<br />
free of charge at the Enrollment Center in Terminal 1,<br />
Concourse A, Level 2. The irises of your eyes are scanned<br />
and digitally saved in a database together with your passport<br />
data. In Terminal 1, Concourse C, Level 3 (when entering<br />
Germany), passengers who have one of the new e-passports<br />
can also take advantage of the EasyPASS border checks with<br />
automatic face recognition. Use of this service is also free of<br />
charge, and no advance registration is required.<br />
Baggage Carts<br />
Baggage carts are available for a deposit at more than<br />
100 dispensers. The deposit is refunded in cash when you<br />
return the cart. It is not necessary to pay a deposit in the<br />
post-security areas.<br />
