HAKKASAN MAKES STATESIDE DEBUT AT FONTAINEBLEAU MIAMI BEACH
(Miami Beach, FL) Credited with single-handedly changing the face of Chinese cuisine within the United
Kingdom, Hakkasan opened the first U.S. restaurant at Fontainebleau Miami Beach in April 2009.
Hakkasan, a Michelin-starred Chinese restaurant with locations in London, England and Istanbul, Turkey,
was the final jewel in Fontainebleau’s crown of world-class signature restaurants.
Heading up Hakkasan Miami’s kitchen is chef Wen Sian Tan, formerly of My Humble House restaurant in
Beijing. Chef Tan executes Hakkasan’s famed Chinese cuisine of traditional Cantonese classics and house
specialties reinterpreted for a contemporary palate. Menu highlights include Roasted Silver Cod in Chinese
Honey and Champagne; a Rib-eye Black Pepper Beef; Crispy Duck Salad and Jasmine Tea-Smoked
Chicken. Open for traditional Dim Sum lunch on Saturdays and Sundays, Hakkasan serves a variety of
dumplings ranging from tender to crispy, Congees with meats, poultry and vegetables, Stir Fried rice and
noodles dishes, soups and vegetable sides.
Hakkasan’s award-winning wine list is unique in both structure and substance: wines are sourced from all
over the world and arranged into themes, such as ‘Purity,’ ‘Terroir’ and ‘Curious Vines,’ designed to
encourage diners to explore. At Hakkasan, each wine is meticulously tasted with dishes from the menu to
ensure several pairing options, and both menus are designed to help customers make informed and
adventurous decisions. The famous cocktail list features freshly prepared libations made with a range of
exotic fruits and Asian spices such as the house signature drink, The Hakka - a blend of vodka, Kubota
sake, lychee juice, lime, coconut and fresh passion fruits.
“We were thrilled to unveil Hakkasan to the U.S. and feel the brand is the perfect addition to the new
Fontainebleau,” states Sean O’Connell, Vice President of Culinary Operations, Fontainebleau Miami Beach.
“Hakkasan’s innovative cuisine and stunning décor have helped to firmly establish Miami as a world-class
dining destination.”
Famed French interior design firm Gilles & Boissier, credited with such inspired projects as Maison Boulud
in Beijing, W Hotel in Shanghai and the Moncler shops, created the restaurant’s contemporary interior.
Traditional Chinese motifs such as lanterns and moucharabieh (screens) have been reinterpreted with a
modern aesthetic through the use of ebony-tinted walnut, intricate lacquered latticework and hand-carved
decorative teak panels. Handmade silk pendant lampshades and embroidered leather upholstery reflect the
decadence associated with the Chinoiserie style. Integral to the interior design is its adherence to the
principals of feng shui, through which the energy and ambience of the space is balanced to deliver the
quintessential Hakkasan experience. The result is a seductive enclave of rich textures and hues surrounded
by views of the Atlantic Ocean.
Hakkasan is open daily for dinner beginning at 6:00 pm. Traditional Dim Sum is served on Saturdays and
Sunday from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm. For more information or reservations please visit
