guide who has lived the past twelve years in Bodie and has written a book on the place. Many of you know all about the President’s Mystery run because most of the club went on it. But for those of you who would like to know all about it, here goes. We piled 43 in a chartered motor coach and headed out Friday morning October 4 th for Yosemite National Park. Bob and Peggy Cook followed behind in their vehicle because they had to head home earlier than the rest of us. We picked up a great picnic lunch at Tenaya Lodge. Upon entering the park we were told not to stop and continue driving through. That ruined my plan to have our picnic at Tenaya Lake, so we continued over Tioga Pass and ate out lunch at the Mono Lake Park. By the way, less than half of the people raised their hand when I asked if they had ever gone over Tioga. Our first night’s destination was Bridgeport along the Walker River. Before heading out to dinner the group consumed numerous margaritas, courtesy of Freida Null and Debbie Garrison. After grabbing another outstanding picnic lunch to take with us on Saturday morning, we headed to California’s official ghost town, “Bodie.” It was because of the rough unpaved roads why we chartered the coach. Ninety percent of the people on the run said they had never been to Bodie before. We had an outstanding private two-hour tour from a Following our picnic lunch we motored north on Highway 395 up to Topaz Lodge at the Nevada state line where we enjoyed a complete dinner of prime rib and or roasted chicken. Our room overlooked the lake and again the margaritas were of unlimited quantity. Pam purchased several great raffle prizes and that meant everyone came out a winner. Later that night some folks gambled, listened and danced to a classic rock band or retired to their room. Sunday morning October 6th, we took the group over Monitor Pass on State Route 89 and then over to Carson Pass on SR 88 before connecting on Highway 49 at Jackson. Twenty miles later we stopped for lunch in San Andreas at one of my favorite restaurants, the “Pickle Patch.” The folks opened the place just for us and many CVC members ordered pesto BLT’s which have won first place at the Calaveras County Fair for the last 12 consecutive years. What a beautiful indoor and outdoor setting followed by yet another outstanding meal. Following an ice cream stop in Angels Camp, we arrived back home just before 6pm on Sunday October 6 th . The weather was perfect, everything worked out beautifully and I think everyone had a stellar time together. Pam and I want to thank everyone who participated. Before closing, here is a reminder to attend our general meeting this month on November 19. You will be voting in your officers for 2014 and we need your thumbs up or down on some important potential revisions to the bylaws. Craig

Parliamentarian Linda Laningham reported the nominees for the board. She will also be forming a committee for the proposed changes to the by-laws, which will meet at after the first of the year. Central Valley Corvettes General Meeting Minutes-October 15, 2013 General meeting was called to order at 6:35 p.m. by President Craig Hansen. Minutes from the September General meeting were read by Terri Parks. Terri gave an update on Fred and thanked everyone for their prayers and well wishes. Motion was made by Gordon Capurro to accept the minutes as read and it was seconded by Joyce Kroeker. Membership Chairman Diane Hays thanked the members who have already sent in their dues. She reminded members to also submit the renewal forms and proof of insurance along with their dues. She welcomed our guests Mike Lebda, Terry and Debby Anderson, and Kurt and Katie Goetz. Charlotte Renna gave the Treasurer's report is the absence of Fred Parks. Vice President of Public Relations Jeff Levine reported on the birthdays and anniversaries of the club members. Vice President of Activities Pam Hansen had members report on their past runs. She reported the future runs as the Sanger Queen Haul, Fresno Veterans’ Parade, Christmas party, Christmas Lights & Hayride, Poker and Pizza, and Christmas at Hearst Castle/Cambria. Sergeant at Arms Charlie Fosnaugh collected $2.50 in badge fines during the President's Mystery Run Old Business: None. New Business: The club needs a new newsletter editor by January and a Membership chair. Patricia has agreed to prepare the January newsletter. The next Board meeting will be tonight following the General meeting. November's Board meeting will be on the 21st at the Laningham's. The newly elected board will be attending. The next General meeting is November 19th at 6:30. Skip Severance advised that anyone interested in buying the new Corvette be careful because some dealers are charging several thousand dollars over MSRP. The motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Frieda Null and seconded by Charlie Fosnaugh.
