Chandan Mahanta is Head of the Centre for Environment and Professor in the<br />
Department of Civil Engineering at the <strong>Indian</strong> <strong>Institute</strong> of Technology-Guwahati,<br />
India. He specializes in water quality, sediment dynamics in fluvial systems,<br />
environmental impact, risk assessment and management, and environmental geoinformatics.<br />
He has several years of experience in environmental aspects of<br />
water resources, with regional specialization in Northeast India and the<br />
Brahmaputra River Basin, and is currently working on climate change impacts<br />
and river basins.<br />
Udit Mathur is an environmental economist in the Vulnerability and Adaptation<br />
Program at Development Alternatives in New Delhi. He is the project leader of<br />
the climate change projects in Bundelkhand, a region that has been experiencing<br />
and is very likely to witness further severe climatic changes. In this capacity, he<br />
is helping Development Alternatives execute projects to fully understand the<br />
implications of climate change in the region and help communities take action to<br />
minimize these impacts. With financial support from the United Nations <strong>Institute</strong><br />
of Training and Research (UNITAR), he is helping to develop climate change<br />
scenarios for the Bundelkhand region; assess socioeconomic vulnerabilities<br />
related to agriculture; and develop strategies for adaptation. He holds a Master’s<br />
degree from the Delhi School of Economics.<br />
Malini Mehra is founder and CEO of the Centre for Social Markets, an <strong>Indian</strong><br />
non-profit at the forefront of climate mobilization and advocacy. A political<br />
scientist and gender specialist by training, she has worked on sustainability issues<br />
in civil society, business, and government around the world for more than 20<br />
years. Her recognitions include: World Economic Forum “Young <strong>Global</strong><br />
Leader”; Asia Society “Asia 21 Young Leader”; and CNN “Principal Voice.”<br />
She serves on a number of advisory boards including Unilever, BHP Billiton, and<br />
Fortis.<br />
Ligia Noronha is a Senior Fellow at The Energy and Resources <strong>Institute</strong> (TERI),<br />
India, and Director of its Resources and <strong>Global</strong> Security Division. She is<br />
Secretary of the Asian Energy <strong>Institute</strong>, a network of Asian and non-Asian<br />
institutes, and was Coordinator of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency<br />
Partnership (REEEP) South Asia from 2005 to 2009. She currently holds the<br />
Michael Hintze Senior Fellowship in Energy Security at the Centre for<br />
International Security Studies at the University of Sydney, Australia. She is a<br />
