- From 2004-10, Umenyiora was the<br />

<strong>Giants</strong>’ sole or shared leader in sacks in 6 of<br />

seven seasons, missing only 2008, when he<br />

did not play a game after undergoing knee<br />

surgery. He was the team sack leader in<br />

four consecutive seasons with 7.0 in 2004,<br />

14.5 in 2005, 6.0 in 2006 and 13.0 in 2007,<br />

and again with 7.0 in 2009. He was tied<br />

with Justin Tuck for the team lead in 2010<br />

with 11.5. Umenyiora was the first Giant to<br />

top the team in sacks four years in a row<br />

since Lawrence Taylor led the team in five<br />

consecutive seasons from 1986-90. Michael<br />

Strahan was No. 1 in sacks each season<br />

from 1995-98, but shared the 1996 lead<br />

with Chad Bratzke.<br />

- Has 74.0 career regular-season sacks,<br />

which place him 4th on the <strong>Giants</strong>’ official<br />

career list (since 1982, when sacks were 1st<br />

recognized)…He is 5.5 sacks behind No. 3<br />

Leonard Marshall.<br />

- Umenyiora is the only player in <strong>Giants</strong><br />

history with three touchdowns on fumble<br />

returns.<br />

- Was voted to the Pro Bowl following the<br />

recorded a QB hit on Robert Griffin III.<br />

- Played at defensive end vs. Green Bay<br />

(11/25)...Recorded a strip-sack on Aaron<br />

Rodgers and two solo tackles.<br />

- Played defensive end at Cincinnati and<br />

recorded four tackles (two solo).<br />

- Played defensive end vs. Pittsburgh<br />

(11/4)...His sack and forced fumble on Ben<br />

Roethlisberg led to Michael Boley’s 70-yard<br />

return for a touchdown in the second quarter...Also<br />

added seven tackles (five solo).<br />

- Played defensive end at Dallas (10/28)<br />

and recorded one tackle...Part of a <strong>Giants</strong><br />

defense that forced six Cowboys turnovers<br />

and allowed just 19 rushing yards for the<br />

contest.<br />
