The crucial factor for gentle yet economical milking

GEA Farm Technologies has developed the AquaSilent
water ring vacuum pump specially to meet the
requirements of dairy farmers. Compared with
conventional industrial pumps, the level of efficiency
has been optimised which means a greater air capacity
while retaining the same connected load.
AquaSilent water ring vacuum pumps are silent,
do not use oil and therefore do not harm our
environment.

the water ring principle
A system module which provides benefits from day
one: the compact AquaSilent vacuum pumps operate
in accordance with the water ring principle, i.e. without
oil. They are extremely quiet which is particularly useful
in the vicinity of residential areas. And they contain
very few wear parts. And you also get a good deal as
far as power is concerned, of course: what makes
AquaSilent vacuum pumps stand out is their high level
of efficiency compared to standard industrial pumps –
for a constant milking vacuum to the udder.
AquaSilent vacuum pumps can be customised for any
size of installation – with air flow rates from 850 to
2400 litres per minute.

That’s what it looks like on the inside:
A bucket wheel impellor rotates in water around the
motor shaft – in the process the water is pressed
outwards against the pump housing. The resulting
cavities between the water and the impellor create a
low air pressure which produces the vacuum required.
The water serves as a sealant and coolant at the same
time. A separator separates the water-air mixture and
the fluid flows back into the feeder tank.

CircoDescal RPA protects against the premature
build-up of limescale
An AquaSilent vacuum pump is a purchase for life.
CircoDescal RPA should be used in order to guarantee
long-term fault-free operation and performance. It
reduces the build-up of limescale as well as the formation
of algae on AquaSilent components and is optimally
matched to the pump material.
CircoDescal RPA protects against corrosion, ensures
fault-free operation and prevents power losses.
The liquid additive is available in 1-litre bottles and
12.5-kg drums.

Built-in safety
The Vacurex or Commander vacuum regulators ensure
that the vacuum level remains constant even if the
loadings change. They are servo-controlled and react
at lightning speed within 5/100 of a second. Large
filter surfaces ensure that the control valves and filters
continue to operate reliably even after they have been
in operation for many hours. The Commander regulator
is optimally designed to ensure a constant milking
vacuum on the largest installations.
The vacuum monitor protects against defects caused
by excessive vacuums. If the vacuum level is exceeded,
it switches on automatically and stops the vacuum
pump. The safety float in the vacuum tank prevents
too much water from being sucked into the pump –
condensation water is automatically separated off.

The shapes of the branches and bends in the vacuum
lines are designed to facilitate flow in particular – this
means energy savings as far as the vacuum pump is
concerned while also saving on your energy costs.
Safety is paramount to us
All the accessories have been designed with safety and
long service life in mind, e.g. the large plastic tank with
safety float or the hours counter which monitors the
operating time of the milking installation exactly and
therefore indicates when the next routine service is due
to be carried out.
