Top-class technology for a reliable milking vacuum<br />
The crucial factor for gentle yet economical milking<br />
is a low but constant vacuum level.<br />
<strong>GEA</strong> <strong>Farm</strong> <strong>Technologies</strong> has developed the <strong>AquaSilent</strong><br />
water ring vacuum pump specially to meet the<br />
requirements of dairy farmers. Compared with<br />
conventional industrial pumps, the level of efficiency<br />
has been optimised which means a greater air capacity<br />
while retaining the same connected load.<br />
<strong>AquaSilent</strong> water ring vacuum pumps are silent,<br />
do not use oil and therefore do not harm our<br />
environment.<br />

A system module which provides benefits from day<br />
one: the compact <strong>AquaSilent</strong> vacuum pumps operate<br />
in accordance with the water ring principle, i.e. without<br />
oil. They are extremely quiet which is particularly useful<br />
in the vicinity of residential areas. And they contain<br />
very few wear parts. And you also get a good deal as<br />
far as power is concerned, of course: what makes<br />
<strong>AquaSilent</strong> vacuum pumps stand out is their high level<br />
of efficiency compared to standard industrial pumps –<br />
for a constant milking vacuum to the udder.<br />
<strong>AquaSilent</strong> vacuum pumps can be customised for any<br />
size of installation – with air flow rates from 850 to<br />
2400 litres per minute.<br />

That’s what it looks like on the inside:<br />
A bucket wheel impellor rotates in water around the<br />
motor shaft – in the process the water is pressed<br />
outwards against the pump housing. The resulting<br />
cavities between the water and the impellor create a<br />
low air pressure which produces the vacuum required.<br />
The water serves as a sealant and coolant at the same<br />
time. A separator separates the water-air mixture and<br />
the fluid flows back into the feeder tank.<br />

CircoDescal <strong>RPA</strong> should be used in order to guarantee<br />
long-term fault-free operation and performance. It<br />
reduces the build-up of limescale as well as the formation<br />
of algae on <strong>AquaSilent</strong> components and is optimally<br />
matched to the pump material.<br />
CircoDescal <strong>RPA</strong> protects against corrosion, ensures<br />
fault-free operation and prevents power losses.<br />
The liquid additive is available in 1-litre bottles and<br />
12.5-kg drums.<br />

Built-in safety<br />
The Vacurex or Commander vacuum regulators ensure<br />
that the vacuum level remains constant even if the<br />
loadings change. They are servo-controlled and react<br />
at lightning speed within 5/100 of a second. Large<br />
filter surfaces ensure that the control valves and filters<br />
continue to operate reliably even after they have been<br />
in operation for many hours. The Commander regulator<br />
is optimally designed to ensure a constant milking<br />
vacuum on the largest installations.<br />
The vacuum monitor protects against defects caused<br />
by excessive vacuums. If the vacuum level is exceeded,<br />
it switches on automatically and stops the vacuum<br />
pump. The safety float in the vacuum tank prevents<br />
too much water from being sucked into the pump –<br />
condensation water is automatically separated off.<br />

The shapes of the branches and bends in the vacuum<br />
lines are designed to facilitate flow in particular – this<br />
means energy savings as far as the vacuum pump is<br />
concerned while also saving on your energy costs.<br />
Safety is paramount to us<br />
All the accessories have been designed with safety and<br />
long service life in mind, e.g. the large plastic tank with<br />
safety float or the hours counter which monitors the<br />
operating time of the milking installation exactly and<br />
therefore indicates when the next routine service is due<br />
to be carried out.<br />
