Porsche Design opens its 100th store
Stuttgart. The Porsche Design Group (Porsche Lizenz- und Handelsgesellschaft
mbH & Co. KG) is pressing ahead with its expansion strategy. In the first half of the
current 2009/2010 financial year (August 1 2009 to January 31 2010) the company
focused in particular on increasing the number of stores for its luxury brand
Porsche Design. The 100th store in the world opened just a few days ago in New
Delhi (India).
“In the period October to December 2009 alone we opened 15 new stores around
the world”, explains Dr Juergen Gessler, CEO Porsche Design Group. “The opening
of our own stores in Düsseldorf and Las Vegas were two very special highlights.
We set a further milestone on February 6, 2010, opening our first Porsche Design
store in India. The shop is also our 100th store worldwide. This offensive is
providing a renewed upturn and greater popularity for the Porsche Design brand.”
In August there were just 81 Porsche Design stores globally, including eleven own
stores and 70 franchise and travel retail stores. In September the Porsche Design
store in Singapore became the first in a long line of new stores. It was followed by
stores in Düsseldorf (Germany), Las Vegas (USA), São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro
(Brazil), Knokke (Belgium), Hong Kong (Hong Kong), Sydney (Australia), Athens and
Thessaloniki (Greece), Zagreb (Croatia), Istanbul (Turkey), Beirut (Lebanon), Tokyo
(Japan), London (Great Britain) and the Chinese cities of Shenzhen and Ningbo.
“Along with the expansion of our sales structure, our customers can first and
foremost look forward to more new product highlights in 2010”, says Dr Juergen
Gessler. “Our second fashion collection designed in house and the Black Edition of
our award-winning Porsche Design P’9522 mobile phone set the ball rolling.”

The activities of Porsche Design Group are concentrated in the areas of Porsche
Design, Porsche Design Driver’s Selection and the Porsche Design Studio in Zell
am See (Austria).
Professor Ferdinand Alexander Porsche, designer of the Porsche 911 and
grandson of the Porsche founder, established the Porsche Design brand in 1972. It
is a luxury brand with a particular focus on technically inspired products. Porsche
Design offers classic men’s accessories that stand for functional, timeless and
purist design. The product portfolio includes watches, sunglasses, luggage, a
sports and fashion collection as well as electronic products and a men’s fragrance
line. All products under the brand are created at the Porsche Design Studio in Zell

The Porsche Design Driver's Selection brand incorporates the vehicle related
product range for Porsche drivers and fans. The collection, which includes model
cars, lifestyle accessories and luggage designed especially for the cars, is
characterised by its quality, sporty design and functionality. The Porsche Design
Driver’s Selection products are available from Porsche Centres and Porsche AG
online shops.
The Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See (Austria) stands for the clear, timeless
and unmistakeable design signature that identifies all products from the Porsche
Design Group. Furthermore, the Studio also works for other companies in the fields
of industrial and product design. The Porsche Design Studio is one of the best
known design houses in Europe today.
