SOLOdrive 561 is a 0-10V dimmable, constant current LED driver. Dimming is beautiful - smooth all the way down to 0. Its two LED outputs offer 

the possibility of driving a very high power 50W LED array connected to a single output, or driving two strings of 15 LEDs at 350mA. SOLOdrive 

is programmable to suit a wide application area and LEDcode allows easy extension of the SOLOdrive’s feature set with time, motion and brightness 

based intelligence.

V Series 

The V Series products are cost-effective driver/controllers for 

direct voltage controlled linear LED lighting applications. 

The V Series driver/controllers can be used in a network or as 

standalone devices. ShowMaster, supported on all eldoLED 

driver/controllers, allows you to upload show sequences for 

use in standalone mode. Create and manage your own show 

sequences using the TOOLbox and freely available PC software. 

The V Series driver/controllers are DMX- and LedSync-compatible, 

allowing 15-bit dimming and colour control and bidirectional 

communication for driver configuration and temperature 

read-out. 

V-Strip Power 

The V-Strip Power is the ideal choice for powering all kinds of 

low-brightness LED packages requiring up to 32A (8A per 

channel) and is available in a 4-channel version. 

Thanks to LedSync Out, the V-Strip Power allows daisy-chaining 

of linear SSL fixtures and can broadcast running show sequences 

to all connected V Series devices.

L Series 

The L Series products are highly integrated, constant current 

driver/controllers for high-brightness LED lighting applications, 

targeted at in-fixture installation. The L Series driver/controllers 

can be used in a network or as standalone devices. Show- 

Master, supported on all eldoLED driver/controllers, allows

The L Series driver/controllers feature one LED current source

protection, including LED throttling, a graceful decrease of 

light output until normal operating temperatures are reached.

Dimmable 12VAC LED drivers 

eldoLED 12VAC technology focuses on general white lighting 

applications in both retrofit and new LED luminairs. In both 

markets, light quality, efficiency and lifetime are important elements. 

In addition, compatibility with existing infrastructure 

such as existing lamp form factor, transformers and dimmers 

is a key requirement for retrofit applications. 

The 12VAC platform is highly scalable in both power and feature 

set. It is the basis for 5W, 8W and 10W drivers and is prepared 

for advanced features like taking in sensor inputs. The 

‘multiple group - single current source’ approach is available 

as an option to enable dimming dependent colour temperature. 

High efficiency and high power factor 

In AC operation, eldoLED’s 12VAC drivers run at a typical efficiency 

of around 85% (92% typ in DC operation). Most retrofit 

form factors are thermally constrained. Higher energy efficiency 

in these applications will lead to either lower operating temperatures 

with similar light output - increasing expected 

lifetime, or to similar operating temperatures with higher light 

output. The eldoLED 12VAC driver power factor is > 0.8 typical. 

Power factor is becoming a key parameter in many regulations. 

The higher power factor leads to lower apparent power 

- helping counter grid congestion. 

No ‘off’ - no flicker 

LEDs have a very fast response time, especially compared to 

incandescent bulbs. Where a halogen lamp will still emit a - to 

the human eye - stable light output at line cycles of 50-60Hz, 

an LED-based lamp at full on will show visible flicker in the 

100-120Hz range. Dimming prolongs the ‘off’ periods with noticably 

more flicker. eldoLED 12VAC solutions rely on Hybrid 

dimming technology. This means that the LED is on throughout 

the entire line cycle - no off means no flicker - even when 

dimming through triac or phase-cut dimmers. 

5W 12VAC driver 

Retrofit applications: transformers and dimmers 

There is a lot of existing infrastructure in 12VAC applications. 

In terms of compatibility, LED-based lamps for retrofit applications 

need to be compatible with a wide variety of transformers 

- electronic as well as magnetic - and triac or phase-cut (leading 

and trailing edge) dimmers. The energy efficiency of LEDs 

means the load for the transformer and dimmers changes: a 

much lower and less resistive load. eldoLED 12VAC technology 

works well with most transformers and dimmers. 

Robust thermal management 

Thermal control is important in ensuring expected lifetimes. 

eldoLED 12VAC technology uses several methods to ensure 

electronics and LEDs maintain normal operating temperatures. 

The electronics have built-in over temperature protection. 

Optionally, an NTC thermistor can be used to accurately 

monitor system temperatures and control LED power. When 

needed, a graceful decrease of power (light output) will ensure 

that normal operating temperatures are respected.

eldoLED bridges 

eldoLED network features are based on the LedSync protocol. 

All eldoLED products support LedSync and have built-in DMX 

compatibility. A number of bridges are offered that allow (1) 

the default LedSync/DMX universe to communicate with other 

network protocols such as DALI and 0-10V, or (2) networking 

over RF instead of wired solutions. 

DALI-to-DMX bridge 

The eldoLED DALI-to-DMX bridge translates up to 32 DALI 

ballast values into DMX signals. The bridge is ideally suited to 

extend existing DALI lighting installations with a DMX universe, 

combining the best of both worlds in one hybrid network 

consisting of DALI and DMX luminaires. 

The bridge’s input side is completely DALI-compatible, meaning 

you can use all popular DALI control devices and commissioning 

tools to control and configure groups and scenes in 

DALI the way you are used to. 

The advantages of the DMX output side of the DALI-to-DMX 

bridge include the possibility of c hoosing the network resolution 

and using the same DMX address for multiple luminaires. 

The DALI-to-DMX bridge autoconfigures the number of DMX 

channels to the number of configured DALI ballasts. 

Configuring network resolution on DMX side 

DMX network resolution (number of bits used to send a set 

point over the network) can be set to either 8 or 16 bit via the 

bridge’s DIP switch. In 8-bit mode, every DALI ballast value is 

translated into one 8-bit DMX channel. In 16-bit mode, two 

DMX channels are used per DALI ballast value. 16-bit mode 

enables a 15-bit resolution fade, resulting in a smooth transition 

between set points, invisible to the human eye. 

Broadcast mode for daisy-chaining 

The bridge broadcasts and replicates the DALI ballast settings 

over a maximum of 256 DMX channels with a 16ms update 

rate. The broadcast mode and set point replication gives you 

the advantage of daisy-chaining and auto-addressing luminaires, 

which is especially useful when networking over long 

cable distances. 

The DALI-to-DMX bridge 

Allocating a start address to multiple luminaires 

Grouping luminaires with exactly the same behavior is easy in 

DMX. All it takes is setting those luminaires to the same DMX 

start address. In short, combining the advantages of DALI and 

DMX allows you to build a far larger yet easy-to-control network. 

Form factor 

The DALI-to-DMX bridge measures 68mm by 50mm or 

2.68” by 1.97”. DIN rail clip and backing plate are available for 

easy installation in standard electric boxes.

The analog-to-DMX bridge is part of the series of bridges 

developed by eldoLED to interface between DMX/LedSync 

networks and other network protocols.

Analog-to-DMX bridge 

The analog-to-DMX bridge translates analog dimmer signals 

into DMX- and LedSync-compatible control signals. 

The bridge comes in a DMX bridge and 5DMX bridge version. 

The first one allows you to pass on the converted signal to one 

DMX universe, the latter one to up to five DMX universes. 

The eldoLED analog-to-DMX bridges are ideally suited to retrofit 

existing analog lighting installations. They allow you to 

make use of all the advantages offered by the digital LedSync 

network signals, such as prime signal integrity over long cable

Calibrating dimming values 

The output of the dimmers that are available on the market today 

varies. eldoLED’s analog-to-DMX bridges have solved 

this problem: they let you calibrate dimming values, offering 

you maximum flexibility and the possibility of optimum system 

integration. 

5DMX: 0-10V analog input 

In addition to the dimmer connection, the 5DMX version supports 

a 0-10V signal. Typically, this type of signal is generated 

by building automation systems or light controllers and can be 

used to set the output of all connected LEDs.

DimWheel Series 

The DimWheel is a powerful one-button DMX controller that 

lets you set dim level, colour and show for LED drivers and 

DMX compatible luminaires. It is easy-to-install and meets EU, 

UK and US wall box size requirements. Also, it is compatible 

with most dimmer face plates available on the market. 

DimWheel Colour 

The DimWheel Colour features the following operation modes: 

• for general white LED lighting applications, the 1-channel 

mode lets you dim the light and turn it on or off. 

• for applications requiring colour temperature control, e.g. 

mixing warm and cool white light, the DimWheel features a 

2-channel mode. In this mode, you can set the colour temperature, 

dim the light and turn it on or off. 

• for static and dynamic full colour applications (RGB and 

RGBW/A), the 3- and 4-channel modes offer complete 

colour or show control plus dimming and on/off control. 

Colour control allows you to create any hue and pick a saturation 

level for this hue. Show control lets you run a show 

in DMX broadcast or chase mode and set the show speed. 

Dimming and colour: high control resolution 

The DimWheel offers a large dynamic range from 100% down 

to 0.5%. For most applications, it suffices to have an 8-bit 

control resolution. In 8-bit DMX mode, DimWheel offers a 

gamma-corrected dimming curve. The 16-bit resolution guarantees 

extremely smooth brightness control and fine colour 

mixing, making the DimWheel the perfect one-button digital 

LED dimmer. 

Shows: broadcast and chase 

DimWheel Colour offers two types of show modes: broadcast 

and chase. You can use broadcast mode for mood lighting 

where all connected luminaires receive the same set point 

(=colour) and use chase mode for linear dynamic applications. 

You can define and upload show sequences to the DimWheel 

Colour yourself by connecting the eldoLED TOOLbox to the 

DimWheel’s LedSync-in interface and using the freely available 

TOOLbox PC software. 

DimWheel Colour EU/UK (DLC40201) and US version (DLC40301) 

Easy installation 

The DimWheel fits into EU, UK and US industry-standard wall 

boxes and is compatible with most dimmer faceplates. The 

DimWheel’s mounting plate ensures easy installation into the
