We’re hoping for even more scoring opportunities and more goals from her this year.” 2007: Hull transitioned very well to the college game, as she led the Vandals with six goals and 13 points in her freshman campaign. She played started 16 games for Idaho and took a team-high 49 shots with 26 on goal. Her six goals tied for the fifth-most in Idaho history, while her 49 shots rank seventh, her 13 points rank ninth and her two game-winners rank third. She had two multi-goal games as she netted two each against Southern Utah and Portland State. Her first goal against Portland State was the quickest goal in Idaho history, as she beat the keeper for the game-winner just 19 seconds into the match. HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Was a Second Team All-State and First Team All- Region honoree at Skyview High School her senior season after she scored 14 goals and had 7 assists ... Earned Offensive Player of the Year honors for the Greater St. Helens League as a senior and was a First Team All-League honoree both her junior and senior seasons ... was also a four year Scholar- Athlete honoree ... played for the FC Portland Maroon club team from 2005-07. If she can come out as strongly and confidently as she did as a freshman, that will bode very well for us. “ 2007: Page emerged as a standout defender for the Vandals before an ankle injury cut her season short. She played in 12 games, all starts, and managed three shots with one on goal. Her defensive help allowed the Vandals to get off to their best start in years and shut out three of their first four opponents. Freshman Goalkeeper Ferris HS Spokane, Wash. 4 Elizabeth Boyden Quoting Showler: “Liz was involved with the national squad and she knows what it’s like to be at the top of the tree, so hopefully that will rub off on some of the other players coming in. She’s a quality goalkeeper who plays with a lot of confidence, is technically very good and has got some very powerful tools to add to our team.” High School/Club: Boyden was a two-time All-Greater Spokane League First Team honoree and four-year starter for Ferris and helped the team to a 2006 GSL co-championship. She helped the Spokane Shadow club team win back-to-back Washington state championships from 2006-07. She helped the Shadow win two Super Y-League Northwest titles and earn a trip to the U.S. Club Soccer national title game in 2004. She was a Northwest Region Olympic Development Program invitee from 2004-06 and was a U.S. national ODP team qualifier in 2004. Personal: Liz is the daughter of Bruce and Anita Boyden. She has two sisters, Jennifer and Hillary. Her intended major is Resource Recreation and Tourism. Freshman Defender South Salem HS Salem, Ore. 16 Danielle Hayward Quoting Showler: “Danielle is a feisty, athletic, quick attacking back who is very single-minded and will add some quality to an area we have some good quality players in. We’re bringing in immense depth and talent to what we already have.” High School/Club: Hayward was a three-sport athlete for South Salem High School in soccer, basketball and track and field. She earned All-Region and First Team All-Central Valley Conference honors in both 2006 and 2007. She managed to move up the field from her defender position and score four goals her senior season. Hayward was a soccer team captain, as well as an eight-time Oregon All-Academic Team honoree during her career. Participated in the Oregon Olympic Development Program for three years. She played her club ball with the Westside Metros and the Cascade Futbol Club. Personal: Hayward is the daughter of Larry and Sue Hayward. She has one brother, Ty, and two sisters, Heather and Alexandra. Her father played football and wrestled at Western Oregon University, while her mother was a swimmer for Willamette University. Desirae Hull Freshman Midfielder/Defender Los Alamos HS Los Alamos, N.M. 23 Quoting Showler: “Des is a versatile player. She’s tall, strong and plays any defensive position and any midfield position. She’s come from a very successful program, having won four straight New Mexico state titles and she just has an infectious winning mentality that will help us grow as a program.” Freshman Defender Kamehameha Schools Kapolei, Hawai’i 25 Shelby Moriguchi Quoting Showler: “Shelby is a tenacious, quick, outside attacking back. She has a fantastic work ethic and she’s another who has had great success. She won three straight state titles in Hawai’i, where every high school player is also involved in club teams.” High School/Club: Hull’s senior season in 2007, she scored 23 goals and had 11 assists for Los Alamos. She was named the 2007 District 2 Player of the Year after she led Los Alamos to an 8-0 district record and the team’s thirdstraight district title. She was a First Team All-State honoree in 2007, a Second Team honoree in 2006 and Honorable Mention in 2005. The Hilltoppers earned a 2006 state championship berth and state semifinal berths in 2004, 2005 and 2007. She helped the Rio Vista FC win four state titles in a row from 2004-07. Her Rio Vista team made the Region IV semifinals in 2005 and the quarterfinals in 2004. She was also a New Mexico Olympic Development Program invitee. Personal: Hull is the daughter of Lawrence and Sandra Hull. She intends to major in Mechanical Engineering at Idaho. Women’s Soccer Newcomers High School/Club: Moriguchi helped Kamehameha Schools-Kapalma take three straight Hawai’i state championships and three straight Interscholastic League of Honolulu titles from 2006-08. In 2008, she was named to the Division I All-Tournament Team after Kapalma cruised through the state tournament without allowing a single goal. She played on the Leahi 90 club team with current teammates Melissa Canite and Jennifer Eugenio for two years and helped the team win back-to-back state titles in 2006 and 2007. Personal: Moriguchi is the daughter of Alika and Phyllis Moriguchi. She has one sister, Shyann, and one brother, Kyle. She intends to major in Biology at Idaho. 17
