creativity last year at times, so I think she’ll add a little bit for us at the top<br />

2006: Baumgartner continued as a force for <strong>Idaho</strong> as she<br />

appeared in 18 games and scored one goal. She scored the lone<br />

<strong>Idaho</strong> goal in a 1-1 tie at Boise State and managed six shots during<br />

the season. She started five <strong>of</strong> the games in which she appeared.<br />

2005: Baumgartner made a large impact in her first year as a Vandal,<br />

playing in 18 games and scoring two goals. She earned Western<br />

Athletic Conference Player <strong>of</strong> the Week honors by scoring two goals<br />

on two shots, including the game winner vs. Northern Colorado. The<br />

POW honor was the first for an <strong>Idaho</strong> player since the 2003 season.<br />

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Sonja Baumgartner spent her high school playing days<br />

at Central High School at Independence, Ore. She played at the highest level <strong>of</strong><br />

the Swiss National League and trained for the Swiss National Team. Baumgartner<br />

played for coach Showler in Oregon when he coached the Salem United club team.<br />

2007: Buswell started seven games and appeared in 16 for the Vandals. She<br />

earned her first career assist in the win over Southern Utah. She finished<br />

the season with nine shots and five shots on goal from her midfield position<br />

HIGH SCHOOL/CLUB: Buswell played in 42 games for Corban College<br />

over the two seasons before transferring to <strong>Idaho</strong>. She scored five goals<br />

and assisted on 12 others during her career at Corban. Buswell played<br />

club soccer for coach Showler’s Salem United Soccer Club and also<br />

spent two years as a member <strong>of</strong> the FC Portland squad. At West Salem<br />

High School, she scored 30 goals and tallied 43 assists while earning<br />

first team all-league and all-state honorable mention honors as a senior.<br />

PERSONAL: She is the daughter <strong>of</strong> Russell and Cynthia Buswell. She has one<br />

brother, Matthew, and one sister, Caitlyn. She is a majoring in Mathematics.<br />
