Electrical and Computer<br />
Engineering Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Ali<br />
Emadi led a student team to a<br />
first-place finish at the 2003<br />
International Future Energy<br />
Challenge for Motor<br />
Competition. He was also<br />
named the Eta Kappa Nu<br />
Outstanding Young Electrical<br />
Engineer for 2003.<br />
Nima Shahidi, a Chemical<br />
Engineering Ph.D. candidate,<br />
received a national award from<br />
the Environmental Protection<br />
Agency for his work in developing<br />
design approaches to<br />
address sustainability issues.<br />
