Honors<br />
Mount Sunapee Resort scholarship program<br />
Tim and Diane Mueller, owners of Mount Sunapee Resort,<br />
have released the names of the <strong>2013</strong> Scholarship Award winners.<br />
Seven $1,000 scholarships were presented to area high<br />
school seniors, including three Mount Sunapee Council Scholarship<br />
Awards, and four scholarships went to Mount Sunapee<br />
Resort employee students and employee dependents, allowing<br />
them to further their academic endeavors.<br />
"Tim and I believe that education is central to our local<br />
prosperity and to an individual's ability to achieve their career<br />
goals and lead a fulfilling life," said' Diane. "<strong>The</strong>se scholarship<br />
programs support our belief of fostering education and<br />
enhancing community spirit."<br />
Mount Sunapee Council Scholarships<br />
Casey Hargbol of Sunapee, who graduated from Sunapee<br />
Middle High School, will be attending the University of New<br />
Hampshire where he plans to major in Mechanical Engineering.<br />
During high school he was captain of the varsity soccer<br />
and cross-country ski teams. He has always had a love for cars<br />
and would like to work in the automotive industry after graduation<br />
from college.<br />
Jordan Lorraine Howard Collins of Grantham, graduated<br />
from Newport High School with a 93.5 GPA She will be attending<br />
the University of New Hampshire where she wants to<br />
enroll in the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Economics.<br />
At Newport, she was in both the National Honor Society and<br />
National Technical Honor Society his senior year. She also<br />
finished second in the Future Business Leaders of America<br />
competition.<br />
Christina Ross of Elkins graduated 27th in her class of 134<br />
at Kearsarge Regional High School with a 3.55 GPA Christina<br />
plans to attend Bentley" University where She will major<br />
iI). Business-Finance or Economics. Following graduation<br />
shewould like live in Boston. Christjna was an accomplished<br />
lacrosse and field hocky player at Kearsarge and was Team<br />
Captain in both sports.<br />
Mount Sunapee Employee<br />
Dependent Student Scholarships<br />
Kaitlin Downing of Hopedale, Mass., is currently enrolled<br />
at Regis College where she is working on a Bachelors Degree<br />
in Business Management. Since 2006, she has worked at<br />
Mount Sunapee as an Alpine Coach for children age's five to<br />
seven. She enjoys working with people and learning about<br />
leadership management. She hopes to start a business of<br />
her own.<br />
Corey Miller-of Winchester, Mass., just graduated from<br />
Winchester High School with a 3.5 GPA. Corey will be attending<br />
Fordham University and majoring in Communications.<br />
Corey developed leadership skills while attending Camp<br />
Coniston for four years in Croydon, where he completed<br />
Counselor-In-Training and Leader-In-Training programs.
