Men of Gold
Among the hundreds of blue stars on the great service flag of the
University gleams a galaxy of golden stars, the deathless emblems
of those fearless youths who, when Justice was assailed, closed the
book, shut tight the study door, and huirled where the rallying
bugles sounded.
To die as these die for whom the stars gleam gold,
—that wrong might be forever beaten down and right restored
this is to conseciate one's life to a cause the holiest among men; and
in the years to come no son or daughter of the University will look
upon the stars of gold without the thought that the names of those
they commemorate are hallowed. With deepest reverence the University
dedicates these pages of her year book to
her sons who gave
to a high and holy cause "the last full measure of devotion."
