Obituaries
Richard Brown, served in the Air Force
Richard (Dick) L.
Brown, 81, husband of
Anna (Musolino) Brown,
passed away peacefully
Tuesday, April 23.
The son of the late
Evelyn Otte and Linwood
Brown, he was born in
Caribou, Maine.
A veteran of the
Korean War serving in the
U.S. Air Force, he and his
wife lived in Southington
since 1956. A welder by
trade, he worked at Pratt &
Whitney before moving
into sales at Zane Weldcraft
and Airgas,
from where
he retired.
He
leaves a son
and daughter-in-law,
Richard and Brown
Diane Brown
of Berlin, a daughter and
son-in-law, Linda and
Frank Vasile of
Southington; a brother,
Gerald Brown of Litchfield,
Maine, a sister and brotherin-law,
Constance and
Richard Moore of Opapka,
FL. He also
leaves his
step-father
Albert Otte
of
Davenport,
FL and step sister Susan
Libby and her husband
James of Durham, four
grandchildren Kristin
Szymanski and her husband
John of Berlin,
Samantha Brown and her
fiancé Ralph Coppola of
Guilford, Zachary Vasile
and Morgan Vasile of
Southington. He also leaves
one great-granddaughter
Callie Szymanski and many
nieces and nephews.
His greatest joys were
traveling and exploring
with Anna, serving as a
mentor and spending time
with his family. Anyone
who knew him knows his
favorite pastime was sharing
time and conversation
with his many friends,
including those most special
to him, Bob, John, Jack,
Harold, Clayton and
Milford, for whose friendships
he was most grateful.
James Randi, loved bowling and sports
James J. Randi, 93, of
the Plantsville, passed
away peacefully at the
Masonicare Hospice on
Tuesday, April 23. He was
the husband of Anna
(Ardigliano) Randi.
He was born in New
Haven on September 21,
1919, to the late
Giacomino and Nicolina
(Palmieri) Randi.
Randi worked for 25
years for the New Haven
Clock Co. and for 25 years
for United Illuminating
Co. until he retired in
Bonnie Conaty, worked at Mt. Southington
Bonnie Joann
(Woolery) Conaty, 77, of
Southington, passed away
on Thursday, April 18, at
Norwalk Hospital, surrounded
by her devoted
family. She was the
beloved wife of James
Conaty for 56 years.
She was born in
Osceola, Missouri, the
daughter of the late David
and Sarah (Campbell)
Woolery.
She was a retired
employee of Mt.
Southington Ski Area. She
was a surrogate grandmother
to the Hartford
Hawks Girls Basketball
1981.
He
enjoyed
bowling and
loved to
watch sports.
His greatest
pleasure was
Randi
to spend
time with his
family. He was very proud
of his grandsons and
never missed a chance to
attend their school events
or their baseball or football
games.
Randi enjoyed getting
team, an
avid Yankees
fan, and
always supporting
her
grandchildren
by
attending
Conaty
each and
every sports game and
dance recital.
Conaty was a voracious
reader, a crossword
puzzle fanatic, and a legend
when it came to decorating
her home for
Christmas.
She enjoyed traveling,
skiing, hiking, gardening,
but most of all loved her
together with his brothers
and sisters and their families.
Family was always
most important to him.
He always expresses his
kindness, sincerity and
commitment to those he
loved. His sweet
demeanor and genuine
caring nature made him
the “Nice guy” he was,
someone who was loved
by all who knew him. He
will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife
Anna of 54 years, he
leaves his daughter,
family dearly.
In addition to her husband,
she is survived by
three sons, Kevin and wife
Ann Marie Conaty, Mark
and wife Cheryl Conaty all
of Southington and
Christopher and wife Ellen
Conaty of Portland, OR,
five grandchildren, Kristen,
Kelly, Patrick, AJ, and Ada.
She also leaves
behind a sister Shirley
Gibson of Texas, a brother
David Woolery, sisters
Vicky Lynn Mercer and
Patricia McCall, all of
Kansas, sisters-in-laws
Eleanor Barnard, Nancy
Conaty, Mildred Conaty,

H. (Bill)
Adams Sr., 87,
of
Southington,
passed away
peacefully
surrounded
Adams
by his family
on Wednesday April 17, at the
Southington Care Center. He
was the loving husband of the
late Dorothy H. (Ellison)
Adams.
Born in Waterbury on
November 17, 1925, to the
late William F. and Elizabeth
(Chambers) Adams, he had
been a longtime Southington
resident.
Adams proudly served
his country in the U.S. Navy
during World War II. He
worked as salesman in the
metals industry for over 40
years.
He will be remembered
for his love of music, boating
and fishing. When he wasn’t
playing his banjo, he volunteered
at Bradley Hospital and
offered his time and musical
talent to the Southington
Lions Club where he was recognized
with a lifetime membership.
Adams was a
member of
the
Waterbury
VFW, the
Southington
Elks Club, and more recently,
the Elm City Banjo Society.
Adams is survived by his
son William H. Adams Jr. and
his wife Laurie of
Southington, his daughter
Cynthia Adams Bucken and
her husband Michael of
Milford, MA, two grandchildren:
Caitlin Bucken and her
fiancé Anthony Joseph
Barbieri of Waterbury and
Kevin Bucken of Milford, MA,
his niece Doris Lundberg of
Florida; and his companion,
Harriet Sheehy of Centerville,
MA.
He was predeceased by
his sister Margaret Jakad.
