Richard (Dick) L.<br />

Brown, 81, husband of<br />

Anna (Musolino) Brown,<br />

passed away peacefully<br />

Tuesday, April 23.<br />

The son of the late<br />

Evelyn Otte and Linwood<br />

Brown, he was born in<br />

Caribou, Maine.<br />

A veteran of the<br />

Korean War serving in the<br />

U.S. Air Force, he and his<br />

wife lived in Southington<br />

since 1956. A welder by<br />

trade, he worked at Pratt &<br />

Whitney before moving<br />

into sales at Zane Weldcraft<br />

and Airgas,<br />

from where<br />

he retired.<br />

He<br />

leaves a son<br />

and daughter-in-law,<br />

Richard and Brown<br />

Diane Brown<br />

of Berlin, a daughter and<br />

son-in-law, Linda and<br />

Frank Vasile of<br />

Southington; a brother,<br />

Gerald Brown of Litchfield,<br />

Maine, a sister and brotherin-law,<br />

Constance and<br />

Richard Moore of Opapka,<br />

FL. He also<br />

leaves his<br />

step-father<br />

Albert Otte<br />

of<br />

Davenport,<br />

FL and step sister Susan<br />

Libby and her husband<br />

James of Durham, four<br />

grandchildren Kristin<br />

Szymanski and her husband<br />

John of Berlin,<br />

Samantha Brown and her<br />

fiancé Ralph Coppola of<br />

Guilford, Zachary Vasile<br />

and M<strong>org</strong>an Vasile of<br />

Southington. He also leaves<br />

one great-granddaughter<br />

Callie Szymanski and many<br />

nieces and nephews.<br />

His greatest joys were<br />

traveling and exploring<br />

with Anna, serving as a<br />

mentor and spending time<br />

with his family. Anyone<br />

who knew him knows his<br />

favorite pastime was sharing<br />

time and conversation<br />

with his many friends,<br />

including those most special<br />

to him, Bob, John, Jack,<br />

Harold, Clayton and<br />

Milford, for whose friendships<br />

he was most grateful.<br />

James Randi, loved bowling and sports<br />

James J. Randi, 93, of<br />

the Plantsville, passed<br />

away peacefully at the<br />

Masonicare Hospice on<br />

Tuesday, April 23. He was<br />

the husband of Anna<br />

(Ardigliano) Randi.<br />

He was born in New<br />

Haven on September 21,<br />

1919, to the late<br />

Giacomino and Nicolina<br />

(Palmieri) Randi.<br />

Randi worked for 25<br />

years for the New Haven<br />

Clock Co. and for 25 years<br />

for United Illuminating<br />

Co. until he retired in<br />

Bonnie Conaty, worked at Mt. Southington<br />

Bonnie Joann<br />

(Woolery) Conaty, 77, of<br />

Southington, passed away<br />

on Thursday, April 18, at<br />

Norwalk Hospital, surrounded<br />

by her devoted<br />

family. She was the<br />

beloved wife of James<br />

Conaty for 56 years.<br />

She was born in<br />

Osceola, Missouri, the<br />

daughter of the late David<br />

and Sarah (Campbell)<br />

Woolery.<br />

She was a retired<br />

employee of Mt.<br />

Southington Ski Area. She<br />

was a surrogate grandmother<br />

to the Hartford<br />

Hawks Girls Basketball<br />

1981.<br />

He<br />

enjoyed<br />

bowling and<br />

loved to<br />

watch sports.<br />

His greatest<br />

pleasure was<br />

Randi<br />

to spend<br />

time with his<br />

family. He was very proud<br />

of his grandsons and<br />

never missed a chance to<br />

attend their school events<br />

or their baseball or football<br />

games.<br />

Randi enjoyed getting<br />

team, an<br />

avid Yankees<br />

fan, and<br />

always supporting<br />

her<br />

grandchildren<br />

by<br />

attending<br />

Conaty<br />

each and<br />

every sports game and<br />

dance recital.<br />

Conaty was a voracious<br />

reader, a crossword<br />

puzzle fanatic, and a legend<br />

when it came to decorating<br />

her home for<br />

Christmas.<br />

She enjoyed traveling,<br />

skiing, hiking, gardening,<br />

but most of all loved her<br />

together with his brothers<br />

and sisters and their families.<br />

Family was always<br />

most important to him.<br />

He always expresses his<br />

kindness, sincerity and<br />

commitment to those he<br />

loved. His sweet<br />

demeanor and genuine<br />

caring nature made him<br />

the “Nice guy” he was,<br />

someone who was loved<br />

by all who knew him. He<br />

will be greatly missed.<br />

Anna of 54 years, he<br />

leaves his daughter,<br />

family dearly.<br />

In addition to her husband,<br />

she is survived by<br />

three sons, Kevin and wife<br />

Ann Marie Conaty, Mark<br />

and wife Cheryl Conaty all<br />

of Southington and<br />

Christopher and wife Ellen<br />

Conaty of Portland, OR,<br />

five grandchildren, Kristen,<br />

Kelly, Patrick, AJ, and Ada.<br />

She also leaves<br />

behind a sister Shirley<br />

Gibson of Texas, a brother<br />

David Woolery, sisters<br />

Vicky Lynn Mercer and<br />

Patricia McCall, all of<br />

Kansas, sisters-in-laws<br />

Eleanor Barnard, Nancy<br />

Conaty, Mildred Conaty,<br />

by his family<br />

on Wednesday April 17, at the<br />

Southington Care Center. He<br />

was the loving husband of the<br />

late Dorothy H. (Ellison)<br />

Adams.<br />

Born in Waterbury on<br />

November 17, 1925, to the<br />

late William F. and Elizabeth<br />

(Chambers) Adams, he had<br />

been a longtime Southington<br />

resident.<br />

Adams proudly served<br />

his country in the U.S. Navy<br />

during World War II. He<br />

worked as salesman in the<br />

metals industry for over 40<br />

years.<br />

He will be remembered<br />

for his love of music, boating<br />

and fishing. When he wasn’t<br />

playing his banjo, he volunteered<br />

at Bradley Hospital and<br />

offered his time and musical<br />

talent to the Southington<br />

Lions Club where he was recognized<br />

with a lifetime membership.<br />

Adams was a<br />

member of<br />

the<br />

Waterbury<br />

VFW, the<br />

Southington<br />

Elks Club, and more recently,<br />

the Elm City Banjo Society.<br />

Adams is survived by his<br />

son William H. Adams Jr. and<br />

his wife Laurie of<br />

Southington, his daughter<br />

Cynthia Adams Bucken and<br />

her husband Michael of<br />

Milford, MA, two grandchildren:<br />

Caitlin Bucken and her<br />

fiancé Anthony Joseph<br />

Barbieri of Waterbury and<br />

Kevin Bucken of Milford, MA,<br />

his niece Doris Lundberg of<br />

Florida; and his companion,<br />

Harriet Sheehy of Centerville,<br />

MA.<br />

He was predeceased by<br />

his sister Margaret Jakad.<br />
