Bones: Students start dog treat business

“We put them in bags
and go around the school to
get money for the dogs,”
said fifth-grader Riley
Herrick.
Any students who
wanted to take some of the
treats home could get four
for 25 cents. The money will
be used to purchase toys
and treats for the animals at
the local dog pound.
“[The pound] can’t take
money so we have to buy
the toys and stuff for them,”
said fifth-grader Christina
Sargent.

Children’s Miracle Network at Marie’s Jewelry on East Main Street, Waterbury
Saturday. The sale was part of an Alex and Ani Spring Event at th store. The store
donated an Alex and Ani that was raffled off during the event.

Title holder, Moe’s team up to help kids
Miss Plantsville’s Outstanding Teen Katerina Belales held a fund raiser at Moe’s
Southwest Grill on Queen Street last Wednesday. From 5 to 9 p.m., 15 percent of
every bill in which a customer presented a flyer or mentioned Belales’s name was
donated to the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center.
