Communities Served
A number of Duke Law graduates
have received prestigious postgraduate
fellowships for public
service work. Caitlin Swain ’12
and Veronica Allen McClendon ’10
(above) received two-year Skadden
Fellowships for work in North
Carolina and Georgia, respectively.
“My semesters in the Children’s
Law Clinic and working for
Advocates for Children at Legal
Aid of North Carolina gave me
the opportunity to actually do the
same work that I am doing now,”
says McClendon, who recently
started her own firm. “Those opportunities
were priceless.”
