Volunteer tutors needed
NEMS, in a partnership with the Youth Assistance Program, is
seeking caring and reliable adults who would like to volunteer as
tutors with our Step Up Tutor Program beginning Thursdays in mid
November from 2:35-4:00pm. Partnering with a tutor not only
improves academic performance, but also provides a positive role
model to emulate for our middle school students. If you are
interested in volunteering, please contact Jenn Schott at 317-773-

FitnessGram
The two Noblesville Middle Schools’
wellness programs are implementing the
FitnessGram testing program to evaluate
fitness levels of our students. The
FitnessGram testing program is supported
by solid physical education, health, and
wellness curriculum. See the

Yearbooks are on sale now.
The price is $40 for a 116
page, all color, hardcover
book. All orders are placed
through Jostens directly. Orders may be
made online at http://www.jostens.com,
by mailing back the form you received in
the mail, or by phone at 1-866-282-1516.
The yearbook staff needs your help to
make this the best yearbook ever! They
are asking that you email appropriate
photos of NEMS students participating in

of activities for youth. Visit the

NEMS presents The Wizard of Oz!
The NEMS Drama Department will present The Wizard of Oz on
November 14, 15, and 16. All seating is reserved. Tickets are $3
for students and $5 for adults and will be sold during student
lunches beginning November 11 and at the door prior to each
presentation. Show times are as follows:
November 14 at 4:00 pm
November 15at 7:00 pm
November 16 at 2:00 pm
8th grade vision screening
All 8 th grade students will have their vision tested on
December 3, 2013. Please see the attachment for more
information.
School Dance December 6
Save the date! The NEMS Student Council is
sponsoring the first dance of the school year
on December 6 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm in the
NEMS Cafeteria. Admission to the dance will be $3. Drop-off and
pick-up for the dance will be on the north side of the building. The
dress code for the Snow Globe themed dance is semi-formal,
meaning khaki pants or better attire. Students must follow the
school dress code at the dance. Only students enrolled at NEMS
may attend.
Dance Clinic
The NHS dance team will be offering a dance clinic on December 7
from 10:00 am - 2:00 pm. Registrations must be in by November
22. See the attachment for more information.
2014-15 school calendar
The Noblesville Board of School Trustees has approved the
calendar for the 2014-15 school year. The calendar is attached to
the end of the newsletter.
