Chinese Garden Tour<br />
and Lunch at the<br />
Huntington Library<br />

On Wednesday, May 15, thirty garden<br />
aficionados from CYC boarded a bus to<br />
the Huntington Library for a tour of the<br />
fabulous Chinese Gardens, sponsored by<br />
CYCWA. The weather was beautiful, sunny<br />
Southern <strong>California</strong> style – warm, but not too hot.<br />
The Huntington Chinese Garden is called<br />
“Liu Fang Yuan”, which translates as “The<br />
Garden of Flowing Fragrance” and is the largest<br />
Chinese garden outside China. Inspired by the<br />
centuries-old Chinese tradition of designing<br />
private gardens for scholarly pursuits.The creation<br />
of the garden began in 2000 and was truly a<br />
cross-cultural effort from start to finish, designed<br />
