TORONTO, <strong>Mar</strong>ch 2 - Guns An Roses, who carries a<br />

two-race win streak, will be a top contender in the second<br />

leg of the $40,000 Cam Fella Pacing Series, set for Saturday<br />

evening at Woodbine.<br />

The four-year-old son of Life Sign-<strong>Be</strong>st Lady captured his<br />

first division in 1:51.3 for co-owner/breeder Joanne Colville,<br />

who co-owns with her daughter, Emma Christoforou, while<br />

Colville’s father, Frank, handles the training.<br />

Colville's decision to nominate Gun An Roses to the Cam<br />

Fella Pacing Series came after the brown gelding, who<br />

earned $99,170 last season, scored his lifetime best mark.<br />

“We weren’t sure if he was going to be able to go with<br />

these types of horses, but we decided to give him a shot,<br />

especially after he took his 1:50.3 record in the Grassroots<br />

Semi-final. He’s proven himself,” Colville said.<br />

Colville’s High Stakes Inc. bred has amassed $141,220 in<br />

career earnings to date.<br />

“He’s the type of horse that races better when he’s in the<br />

mix of things. That’s when you get the best performance out<br />

of him,” Colville noted. “He’s starting to show some of his<br />

mother's back-class (<strong>Be</strong>st Lady p,1:51.4 - $276,915).”<br />

Colville also believes that giving Guns An Roses the<br />

appropriate time off in the fall was instrumental to the<br />

recent success he’s enjoyed, namely earnings of $42,050<br />

from just six starts (three wins) in <strong>2012</strong>.<br />

“That was the best thing<br />

we could have done for<br />

him,” Colville said. “He<br />

really matured, filled out<br />

and grew into himself.<br />

bring him back in the right<br />

form. So far, it’s paying off<br />

and hopefully that continues.”<br />

When Guns An Roses begins from post one in the second<br />

of two divisions Saturday night, Colville will hand the<br />

lines to fiancée, driver Jack Moiseyev.<br />

“Jack seems to get along well with him,” Colville said. “I<br />

know he thought quite a bit of him when he took his lifetime<br />

best and it looks like that’s continued. If not, we’ll<br />

have to make a driver change,” she said with a laugh.<br />

The Cam Fella Pacing Series is for four and<br />

five-year-old pacers in <strong>2012</strong>, who are non-winners of<br />

$150,000 lifetime as of midnight December 31, 2011. The<br />

$100,000 final is scheduled for Saturday, <strong>Mar</strong>ch 10.<br />
