Wairarapa Daily Times 23 Sep 1910 Local and General
Mr J. J. Parkes, the provincial representative of the International Schools, who is now in Masterton, is an enthusiast in matters connected
with technical education. Mr Parkes has been connected with the schools for many years, and has visited various parts of New Zealand on
business connected with educational matters. Since coming to Masterton a few days ago, he has explained the methods of the
International Schools to a great number of young men, and has been successful in enrolling several in the vaious courses of instruction
undertaken by the Schools. Mr Parkes states that the young men of Masterton with whom he has come in contact are very keen on
technical education, and as the International Schools present to them a means whereby they can obtain the necessary instruction at a
minimum of cost, he hopes to secure a great many students during the week he will be here. With this object in view he is offering a special
discount to all who enroll during the currency of the display now being made at the Trust Buildings.
