Parkes, the provincial representative of the International Schools, who is now in Masterton, is an enthusiast in matters connected with technical education. Mr Parkes has been connected with the schools for many years, and has visited various parts of New Zealand on business connected with educational matters. Since coming to Masterton a few days ago, he has explained the methods of the International Schools to a great number of young men, and has been successful in enrolling several in the vaious courses of instruction undertaken by the Schools. Mr Parkes states that the young men of Masterton with whom he has come in contact are very keen on technical education, and as the International Schools present to them a means whereby they can obtain the necessary instruction at a minimum of cost, he hopes to secure a great many students during the week he will be here. Judgment was entered by consent. The partnership was entered into in September 1927 for the purpose of manufacturing a material known as wood wool and selling and exploiting the same. In November the business had been sold to a company known as Wood Wool, Limited. Evening Post 18 Feb 1933 Marriage On February 8, 1933, at St Jude’s Church, Lyall Bay, by the Rev A. T. Bristed Page, Clarence Albert Cliff, youngest son of Mr and Mrs J. Pendarves Cliff, Geraldine, to Edith Fisher Armstrong, only daughter of Sir Nesbitt Armstrong, Baronet and Lady Armstrong, Haruru, Lyall Bay, Wellington. The wedding was solemnised by the Rev Bristed Page at St Jude’s Church recently of Edith Fisher Armstrong, only daughter of Sir Nesbit Armstrong, Bart., and Clarence Albert, younger son of Mr and Mrs J. Pendarves Cliff, of Geraldine, South Canterbury. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a graceful frock and coatee of cornflower blue, and a drooping hat of soft grey felt. She was attended by one bridesmaid, Miss Muriel Oxford (Napier), an old school mate, who wore a grey frock and blue felt hat. The bridegroom was attended by Mr Maurice Kerr. After the wedding the bride’s parents, Sir Nesbit and Lady Armstrong, entertained the guests at St Jude’s Hall. Auckland Star 19 Sep 1933 Death On September 19, 1933, at his residence “Marmoto”, 53 Symonds Street, Auckland, William Henry, dearly beloved husband of Maude Elizabeth Parkes, and loved brother of Jack Parkes; aged 69 years.
