Brief Description of the Program: MarCoast aims at scaling up services which have been
previously consolidated in the frame of ROSES and COASTWATCH (both projects funded by
ESA during 2003-2004). Services that were implemented in pilot phase in the framework of two
previous projects will now be delivered in operational mode. HCMR will continue to provide the
oil spill forecasting service for the Aegean Sea in real time, based on oil spills detected by the
satellite SAR sensors.
