Can Openers
This chart is designed to help you determine which can opener is right for you. Be sure to choose a can opener based on
your requirements for opening the maximum number of cans per day, not your average.
Note:
• If you open both ends of can for recycling, please double your usage figure.
• Exceeding recommended daily use limits can cause premature wear and may void your warranty.
• Regular cleaning will prolong unit life. We recommend using the ST-93 cleaning tool. See page 21.
• Inspect and change knives and gears regularly. Metal to metal friction will eventually cause knives and gears to wear.
This is normal.
• Knives and gears should last 2500-5000 cans depending on usage (type of cans being opened).
• Manual opener knives are reversible (except #8).
DO NOT SHARPEN MANUAL OR ELECTRIC KNIVES OR CROWN PUNCH BLADES:
Edlund knife edges are intentionally dull and rounded to fold metal not cut it, thereby
providing a smooth rim edge. Re-conditioning of crown punch blades is available through factory.
Edlund recommends purchasing a second set of blades with each crown punch.
