Results<br />

This section presents the type <strong>of</strong> data collected from Type 1 and Type 2 hospitals.<br />

Type 1 data refers to:<br />

a) intensive care unit – annual data:<br />

i) central line-associated bloodstream infections and causative organisms.<br />

b) surgical site infection rates – annual data:<br />

i) coronary artery bypass grafts – all infections<br />

ii) coronary artery bypass grafts – deep and organ space infections<br />

iii) colon surgery<br />

iv) caesarean section<br />

v) hip arthroplasty<br />

vi) knee arthroplasty.<br />

c) neonatal intensive care unit – cumulative data:<br />

i) central line-associated bloodstream infections and causative organisms<br />

ii) peripheral line-associated bloodstream infections and causative organisms.<br />

Type 2 data refers to:<br />

a) compliance with surgical antibiotic prophylaxis<br />

b) compliance with measles vaccination guidelines<br />

c) compliance with hepatitis B vaccination guidelines<br />

d) peripheral venous catheter compliance<br />

e) multi-resistant organism infection rate<br />

f) laboratory-confirmed bloodstream infections<br />

g) outpatient haemodialysis event rate<br />

h) occupational exposures<br />

i) surgical infection report.<br />

The influenza vaccination report includes healthcare worker influenza vaccination<br />

uptake from both Type 1 and Type 2 hospitals.<br />

Surgical antibiotic prophylaxis includes surgical antibiotic prophylaxis data for both<br />

Type 1 and Type 2 hospitals.
